Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off novel Chapter 673

Chapter 673: Chapter 673: A Guilty Conscience

Outside, the snowy street became completely quiet once again.

On the other hand, Little Hua’s grandfather was already hurrying his preparations to leave. Little Hua had long since fallen unconscious from the emotional exhaustion and her frantic crying, her small green leaves tightly curled inward.

The old man quickly picked her up and carefully stuffed her into a large, canvas-like bag.

After making sure she was perfectly secure at the bottom, he held it with his vines. His sons, grandsons, and son’s wife were already waiting nearby in a tight, anxious huddle.

Now that everyone had finally reunited, they could leave this dangerous territory behind and return to the safety of Green Spirit Mountain.

Everything seemed to be going perfectly smoothly. At least... that was what they all thought.

The spiritual plant family had barely walked a short distance down the snowy mountain path when the old man’s expression suddenly changed.

His entire body stiffened mid-stride. His pupils shrank to the size of pinpricks, and the relaxed, relieved look on his face instantly vanished into thin air.

Without any hesitation, his plant form shifted with a soft flash, transforming into his elderly human form. His deeply serious, pale expression shocked everyone around him.

"Father?" his son whispered, his leaves rustling.

"Grandpa, what’s wrong?" one of the cousins asked anxiously.

The old man didn’t waste time explaining. He immediately turned to his family, his voice sharp. "Get inside the bag. Now."

Everyone froze, blinking in confusion. "What?"

The old man’s face became even uglier, a cold sweat breaking out on his wrinkled forehead.

"Hurry! Someone is coming." His voice became extremely solemn, dropping to a harsh whisper.

"A predator. A terrifying predator... and it is coming directly toward us."

The moment those heavy words fell, everyone’s faces turned completely pale.

They had been discovered? How? This was completely impossible!

Their hiding place had been practically perfect, and they had even painstakingly erased every single one of their tracks in the snow. Yet, somehow, someone had still managed to track them down.

Without wasting another second, the entire family of fifteen cousins hurried forward, shifting into very small plant and squeezing directly into the large bag.

This was no ordinary sack. Although it looked old, tattered, and completely worn out, it was actually a precious ancient treasure of the spiritual plant clan.

Once inside, it could completely hide a person’s aura, scent, and even their very existence from the outside world.

Unless a tracker was mind-bogglingly or extraordinarily powerful, finding the people hidden inside was almost impossible.

After the last family member entered, the old man tightly gripped the top of the bag and hoisted it onto his shoulder. Then, he stood quietly in the middle of the snowy path.

His heart was pounding furiously against his ribs. Boom. Boom. Boom.

The terrifying pressure in the air grew closer.

Suddenly...a tall, dark shadow fell over him, blocking out the moonlight.

The old man’s body instantly froze solid. His neck moved upward little by little, his joints practically creaking with fear until he finally saw him.

A tall, magnificent man stood right before him on the snow. He had flowing dark hair, mesmerizing golden eyes, and flawlessly beautiful features.

A faint, completely relaxed smile rested on his lips.

The old man’s heart nearly stopped right then and there.

The old man’s grip on the bag tightened until his knuckles turned white, his palms instantly becoming slick with sweat.

However, he quickly forced himself to take a deep breath. No panic... Act natural, act natural... he chanted repeatedly in his mind.
