Everyone looked toward Su Qinglan. She smiled helplessly, her gaze softening as she watched the furry chaos.
"They’re still babies. Their wild instincts are much stronger than ours. If we force strict dining etiquette on them every single day, they’ll lose some of the joy of being little. When they grow older, they’ll naturally learn. So... let them enjoy themselves today."
The beast husbands exchanged looks before smiling helplessly. Since Lanlan had spoken, no one objected.
For the first time, none of the fathers stepped in to feed the cubs. Instead, the tiny beasts happily relied entirely on themselves biting, tugging, and wrestling.
Occasionally, a stray paw would smack a brother, sparking a brief, high-pitched growl, only for them to go right back to happily eating together five seconds later.
Compared to the battlefield on the left, one corner of the table was astonishingly peaceful.
Xuan Long sat quietly in his chair. Nestled comfortably in his broad lap, little Yue Yue drank from her milk bottle.
Gulu... Gulu...
She drank contentedly, her tail slashing against Xuan Long’s palm happily. Her cheeks looked noticeably rounder than before.
Seeing this, Xuan Long’s usually cold, stoic face unconsciously softened, his emerald eyes filled with endless affection.
"Our Yue... seems a little plumper today," he murmured softly, lightly touching her soft cheek.
His expression grew even more satisfied, though a quiet thought crossed his mind: Still too skinny. Needs to become rounder.
He looked toward the other cubs currently wrestling an entire roasted deer, then looked back at his tiny daughter.
No. My daughter must become even chubbier than them. I’ll feed her more.
Just then, a pair of wooden chopsticks appeared before his face.
Xuan Long blinked, looking up. Su Qinglan was smiling gently at him.
"You’ve only been feeding Yue," she said warmly. "You haven’t eaten a bite yourself. Open your mouth."
Without waiting for his response, she offered the tender piece of meat.
Xuan Long’s emerald eyes brightened instantly. The corners of his lips curved upward as he obediently leaned forward. "Aah."
He took the bite, chewing slowly as his gaze softened even further. "It’s delicious."
Su Qinglan chuckled. "I know. I like this flavor too."
Watching the interaction, An Mo who had been enthusiastically stuffing food into his own mouth, suddenly froze. He slowly looked at Su Qinglan, then at Xuan Long, and then back to Su Qinglan.
"...Lanlan," An Mo whined, his voice sounding deeply aggrieved.
Su Qinglan blinked. "Hm?"
"I want one too."
"..."
"From your chopsticks."
Without thinking much of it, she picked up another piece and fed him.
An Mo immediately leaned over with a triumphant grin. "Delicious!"
Seeing this, Hu Yan quietly pushed his bowl forward. "I haven’t tried that dish either."
Shi Feng calmly added, "I think this fish looks rather good."
Rong Ye coughed lightly, looking away. "...Me too."
Even Han Jue looked over silently, his intent entirely clear.
Su Qinglan stared at her lined-up husbands, stunned. "...You all..."
Before she could finish, An Mo grinned shamelessly. "Fairness! You fed one, so you must feed everyone."
Half an hour later, Su Qinglan’s arm was thoroughly sore. Only after every single husband had successfully received food from her chopsticks were they finally satisfied.
Across the table, Shen Mochen quietly watched the scene unfold. A faint, helpless laugh escaped him as he shook his head with genuine warmth.
"What a family..."
Yet, deep within his smiling eyes, a trace of loneliness quietly flickered before disappearing just as quickly. He lowered his head to pour some tea before anyone could notice.
Beside him, little Duo Duo had finally managed to secure her own share of roasted deer. Since she lacked sharp claws, Shen Mochen patiently tore the tender meat into tiny, bite-sized pieces for her.
