An Mo blinked, his golden eyes flashing with genuine confusion. "A wedding? What is a wedding, Lanlan?"
Su Qinglan smiled at his innocent question and sat up on the bed, pulling the smooth red georgette into her lap.
She began to explain the concept to him in simple, clear terms. She told him how a wedding was a formal and sacred ceremony where two people who loved each other dressed in special attire...often brilliant red or pure white and stood before their family and loved ones to exchange vows of lifelong love, loyalty, and commitment.
She described the joy, the celebrations, the solemn promises, and how the special dress marked the most important day of a bride’s life.
An Mo listened intently, completely mesmerized by her words. Even though he had traveled to many different realms and lower domains over his long life, he had never encountered a tradition explained quite like this.
The concept deeply resonated with him. After all, his own approach to their mating ceremony was surprisingly similar!
An Mo suddenly remembered an old, cherished memory from his childhood.
Years ago, while looking through his late mother’s personal belongings, he had found an ancient portrait of her. In that drawing, his mother was wearing a striking, beautiful red dress on the very day she bonded with his father.
At the time, An Mo hadn’t fully understood why his mother had chosen to wear such a unique outfit instead of standard royal robes. But hearing Su Qinglan’s explanation now, everything made sense. His mother must have known about the concept of a wedding dress too!
A wave of pure joy and validation washed over An Mo. A bright, dazzling smile broke across his handsome face.
"I see..." An Mo murmured, his voice full of happiness. "Then my mother must have held a wedding with my father back then! It seems you and my mother really do think alike, Lanlan."
He leaned closer, his golden eyes sparkling with playful warmth as he looked at the red georgette dress resting in her hands.
"Lanlan, let me help you try it on right now," An Mo said immediately, his tone turning eager. "If there are any adjustments needed, we can fix them right away before the ceremony."
Before Su Qinglan could even process his suggestion, An Mo was already taking action. He gently helped her stand up beside the bed, his long, warm fingers lightly brushing against her skin as he began helping her unfasten her outer robes.
"An Mo, I can do it myself..." Su Qinglan started, her cheeks instantly flushing a deep shade of pink.
"Nonsense, Lanlan," An Mo purred teasingly, his warm breath fanning against her neck as he skillfully draped the soft red georgette over her shoulders.
"As your future beast husband, it’s my duty to serve you. Besides... how could I miss the chance to admire my beautiful mate?"
Su Qinglan’s heart hammered against her chest at his straightforward flirtation. "You’re just taking advantage of the situation!"
"Maybe a little," An Mo chuckled softly, his hands smoothly adjusting the fit of the dress around her waist.
The lightweight georgette fabric hugged her slender frame perfectly, flowing down to her ankles like a red river. The golden embroidery caught the light with every movement she made, contrasting brilliantly against her soft skin.
An Mo stepped back for a moment to admire her, his gaze darkening with deep admiration and affection.
"Lanlan..." he whispered, his voice dropping an octave as he stepped close again, wrapping his arms securely around her waist from behind and resting his chin on her shoulder.
"You look absolutely stunning. You were truly made for this dress."
Su Qinglan looked at her reflection in the full-length crystal mirror across the room. The vibrant red dress brought out the natural glow of her skin, making her look radiant and ethereal. She leaned back against An Mo’s solid chest, a warm, genuine smile spreading across her face.
