Lord Chu immediately stepped forward. His face was completely pale, and there was no longer any trace of his former arrogance remaining in his expression.
He lowered his head and bowed deeply toward Su Qinglan, his body rigid. "Lady Su, this old man sincerely apologizes for what happened here today."
His voice was filled with deep desperation and apparent sincerity. "I hope you can forgive my foolish daughter. She was blinded by anger and truly did not know what she was doing."
Su Qinglan looked down at him silently. Then, a sharp, mocking sneer broke across her face. "Forgive her?"
Lord Chu’s heart tightened violently in his chest.
Su Qinglan folded her arms across her chest, her posture supreme and cold. "So, you are only apologizing to me now because I am An Mo’s female?"
Lord Chu’s expression stiffened instantly, his throat growing dry.
Su Qinglan’s smile became noticeably colder. "What if I wasn’t? What if I were just a weak, lowly female from a lower domain?"
Her voice was strikingly calm, but every single word carried a sharp, deadly edge that echoed through the silent courtyard.
"Would you still be standing here bowing and apologizing to me so humbly?"
Lord Chu’s face drained of all remaining color.
Su Qinglan continued relentlessly, her eyes flashing with disdain. "No. You would have beaten me to death without a second thought."
The entire hall fell into a deathly, suffocating silence.
"You insulted me," Su Qinglan stated firmly. "You insulted my beloved beast husbands. And you even dared to demand my beast husband as your daughter’s slave."
Her eyes narrowed into dangerous slits. "Did you think I would simply forget all of that?"
Lord Chu’s face completely cracked with panic. He opened his mouth, but not a single coherent word came out.
Su Qinglan gave a cold, dismissive laugh. "And now that you know my true status, you beg for forgiveness?"
She shook her head slowly. "Dream on."
Lord Chu’s heart sank directly into an abyss. He knew this terrifying matter would not end with a simple, empty apology.
Su Qinglan glanced at him coldly. "Since you want my forgiveness so badly, then I will give you one single chance."
Lord Chu immediately looked up, desperation in his eyes. "What does Lady Su require?"
Su Qinglan began calmly listing the exact compensation she demanded. "A hundred high-grade crystal cores. Ten thousand middle-grade crystal cores."
She didn’t stop there. "Three thousand-year-old healing herbs and a whole bottle of Moon Spirit Jade Dew."
Lord Chu’s face twitched violently with every single item listed. Those were not ordinary treasures; even for the wealthy Chu Clan, gathering them quickly would require immense effort.
Yet, he gritted his teeth and nodded. "Fine."
Su Qinglan looked down at him, her eyes unyielding. "That’s not all."
Lord Chu’s heart sank into darkness once again.
Su Qinglan pointed a slender finger toward Chu Xirou. "She severely insulted my beast husband. She called him useless trash, and she even dared to call him names."
Her eyes turned as cold as ice. "She will kneel right here and apologize to him directly."
Lord Chu’s expression immediately changed in shock. "Lady Su..."
Su Qinglan raised an eyebrow, her tone challenging. "What? Is my demand somehow unreasonable?"
Lord Chu fell completely silent. He knew it wasn’t; after all, his daughter had indeed insulted him ruthlessly.
He slowly turned his head toward the sobbing Chu Xirou. "Xirou."
Chu Xirou’s swollen face instantly changed. "No!" She shook her head violently in utter horror. "Father, I don’t want to!"
