The peaceful family moment instantly turned into another round of excitement as they hurried toward the oven.
After all... There were several hungry little cubs waiting outside. And none of them knew yet that their mother had successfully made their very first cakes in the Heavenly God’s State.
Su Qinglan rushed to open the stone oven door, waving her hand to clear away the hot, fragrant steam.
"Look!" she gasped, her face lighting up with absolute joy. "They puffed up so nicely!"
Sitting inside the oven were several golden-brown, fluffy cakes, rising high in their makeshift clay bowls.
The sweet, rich aroma of milk, honey, and baked grains filled the entire kitchen courtyard, drifting straight out toward the gardens.
Beside her, Xuan Long held the tiny basket containing Little Yue. He looked down at his daughter, who was staring intently at her parents.
Little Yue poked her tiny head completely out of the basket, her sparkling blue eyes blinking fast. She tilted her tiny face up toward Xuan Long, her small mouth opening as she made a series of cute, high-pitched ’squeaks and clicks’ in her native serpent-baby language.
In her innocence, she was proudly declaring, ’Daddy, Mommy was cuddling you, but I came to save you! Now you don’t have to be squashed!’
Xuan Long’s lips twitched violently, a sudden wave of quiet laughter bubbling up in his chest.
He stared at his sweet, clueless daughter. If Su Qinglan knew that Little Yue actually thought her mommy was trying to "squash" her father beast like a big bully, she would be so embarrassed she’d hide under the bed!
Naturally, Xuan Long kept his daughter’s hilarious little misunderstanding a complete secret from Su Qinglan.
He reached out one long finger, gently tapping Little Yue’s tiny forehead to curb the cub’s possessive jealousy.
In Xuan Long’s heart, his beloved mate Su Qinglan always came first, his precious daughter came second... and as for those loud, unruly male brat cubs playing in the garden, he could completely forget about them!
But since Little Yue was his own daughter, he couldn’t bear to scold her even a tiny bit. He simply let out a low, quiet chuckle that made his chest rumble softly.
Meanwhile, out in the spiritual garden...
ACHOO!!!!!
Xiao San was running through the flowerbed when he suddenly let out a massive, dramatic sneeze that nearly knocked him off his feet!
He shook his head. His emerald eyes narrowed suspiciously as he muttered to himself, "Achoo! Hmph... who is bad-mouthing me behind my back?! If I find out who it is, I’ll definitely bite them hard!"
Shaking off the strange itch in his nose, Xiao San immediately launched his heavy, chubby body forward, landing directly on top of his elder tiger brothers to tumble around in the grass!
Back in the kitchen, Su Qinglan carefully pulled the hot, sweet cakes out using a thick cloth.
The delicious smell was so overwhelming that Little Yue’s tiny nose twitched continuously in her basket, her small mouth watering as she reached her tiny tail toward the sweet treats.
"They’re still too hot, sweetie," Su Qinglan cooed gently, blowing on a small piece of the fluffy cake to cool it down.
She broke off a tiny, soft crumb and fed it to Little Yue, who swallowed it happily and let out a delighted squeak!
Su Qinglan’s eyes shone with satisfaction. "It worked! The golden flour is a complete success! Xuan Long, let’s bring these out to the garden. I bet the other little foodies are already drooling!"
Xuan Long nodded warmly, carrying his daughter on one arm while lifting the large tray of hot cakes with the other, following his mate out into the sunny garden to surprise their waiting family.
The moment the aroma hit the cubs’ noses, all of them immediately scrambled across the grass in a frantic rush!
