Back in Dragon Beast City...
Xiao San stood beside the large bed, his bright little eyes staring curiously at the man lying peacefully in front of him.
The man was incredibly handsome. Even though he was completely unconscious and had not moved for a long time, there was still an overwhelming, majestic aura surrounding him.
But Xiao San was not paying much attention to his face. His bright emerald eyes were completely fixed on the two shiny, elegant dragon horns growing from the top of the man’s head.
They looked smooth. They looked beautiful. And most importantly... Xiao San really, really wanted to touch them.
His little hand slowly stretched forward through the air. But before touching the grand horns, he poked the man’s arm with one finger.
"Da...da~."
The man did not move.
Xiao San blinked. "Dada~."
Still nothing.
The little cub tilted his head, his curiosity piqued even further. He slowly leaned closer over the soft mattress. Then, after making sure his new grandfather still did not move, his small fingers carefully reached toward one of the shimmering horns.
Tap.
His fingertip touched the cool, smooth surface. Xiao San’s eyes immediately lit up like tiny stars!
"So smooth..." he whispered to himself.
He gently rubbed the horn with his tiny fingers. The man still did not react.
Seeing this, Xiao San became bolder. He touched it again. And then again! His little eyes were practically glowing with delight.
"It feels so good..."
He carefully rubbed the shiny horn for a moment before suddenly reaching up with both hands to ruffle his own fluffy hair.
Hidden beneath his messy locks were two tiny, barely visible little horn bumps. They were so tiny that they were almost impossible to see unless someone looked very closely.
Xiao San touched one of his own tiny bumps. Then he looked at his grandfather’s large, magnificent horns. Then back at his own tiny ones.
His little mouth immediately pouted into a dissatisfied frown.
"Will my horns grow this big too?" he muttered to himself, staring at the man seriously.
After thinking for a moment, his little face became confused. "Mother said..." He scratched his head, rumpling his hair even more. "...he’s also Grandpa. Father’s father?"
He looked at Teng Yunxiao again, his little brows furrowing into a tight knot. "But how come Grandpa never came to meet us before?"
He clearly found this very strange. But the complicated question only occupied his simple cub mind for a few seconds. Soon, the shiny, smooth horn attracted his attention once again.
Xiao San immediately forgot about everything else. He reached out and gently hugged the grand horn with both of his tiny hands, resting his cheek against it. He really, really wanted his own horns to grow this big and shiny!
He was still happily hugging the horn when...
Creak.
The wooden door suddenly swung open!
Xiao San jumped! His little hands immediately flew away from the horn as if it had burned him.
In a flash of pure panic, he quickly sat straight up beside the bed. His little back became unusually stiff, and his hands rested obediently on his knees.
He adopted an extremely serious, innocent expression, looking exactly like a well-behaved cub who had been sitting there quietly the entire time.
As if... he had never touched the horn at all!
Footsteps slowly approached the bed. Xiao San secretly glanced behind him through the corner of his eye.
His father, Xuan Long, was walking into the room with calm, steady steps. And cradled gently in his arms was his sleepy little sister, Yue Yue.
Xuan Long’s gaze swept across the quiet room before falling directly onto Xiao San. He walked over, reaching out a hand to gently ruffle his son’s fluffy hair.
Xiao San’s little body swayed slightly from the gentle force. "Father~"
