Rong Ye stood alone outside the gate, so frustrated he angrily kicked a small pebble on the ground.
Unluckily for him, even the pebble seemed to have an attitude today. The tiny stone flew forward, slammed hard against a tree trunk, and bounced straight back onto his forehead with a sharp clack!
"Ouch! Damn it!"
Rong Ye clutched his forehead, cursing without restraint. It was truly a terrible, rotten day for him!
How was he supposed to console his angry female now?
And as for his little brat of a son...was he really just going to sit there and sulk? Couldn’t that little fox cub help his poor father out just a little bit? After all, his father had done so much for him!
Sighing helplessly, Rong Ye looked at the house. Fine. Su Qinglan and Ciao Ciao were currently mad at him, but food was never innocent. Looking at the large basket of wild eggs he had gathered, a stroke of genius struck him.
He decided to make scrambled eggs for the rest of the household, a batch of hard-boiled eggs for Su Qinglan, and a nice plate of soft poached eggs for the little brat.
He immediately hurried into the kitchen and got to work.
Meanwhile, little Ciao Ciao peeked secretly through the window crack.
The moment his eyes fell on his father carefully making those delicious, silky poached eggs, a wave of drool instantly filled his mouth.
Slurp!
However, remembering that he was supposed to be extremely angry, Ciao Ciao quickly puffed out his cheeks.
He couldn’t possibly beg for food first! His foolish father would definitely have to come out and beg him to eat it. Only then would he consider forgiving him!
A short while later, Rong Ye finished cooking. He walked out to find that Su Qinglan had already retreated to her bedroom, while Ciao Ciao was pacing back and forth in the main hall, making sure he was clearly visible.
Rong Ye shot his son a disdainful glare. Without saying a single word, he placed the plate of hot poached eggs on the table and immediately walked past him toward Su Qinglan’s room.
He knew exactly what was going on in his son’s little head, letting out a quiet sneer.
Did that brat think his own father couldn’t see through his silly act?
Dream on! If Ciao Ciao wanted to eat, he could eat. If he didn’t, Rong Ye was more than happy to feed those eggs to Stove. At least Stove would be grateful, unlike his ungrateful little son!
Placating his female was infinitely more important right now.
Carrying a bowl of freshly boiled eggs... Su Qinglan’s absolute favorite... Rong Ye slipped into the bedroom. He saw Su Qinglan sitting near her desk, rummaging through a small chest to find something.
Rong Ye immediately sat down beside her, putting on a deeply wronged expression.
