Chapter 112
Anna’s POV
I desperately wanted to, but I couldn’t.
He traced the curve of my waist, my hip. Your body is for my eyes only. No one else gets to see you like this. No one else gets to touch you, hear you moan like you’re doing right now
Heat flooded through me, pooling between my thighs. My core denched with need, throbbing, aching Every touch sent waves of sensation through my body, making my legs weak.
“How can you be so arrogant?” The words came out breathless, king any real conviction. “Is that what this is about? You don’t want me to do it because you’ve decided I belong to you?”
Oh God, did I really just say that?
Roman’s hand slid lower, down over the curve of my backside, gripping firmly. His other hand left my breast to join it, both hands cupping me and pulling me flush against him.
I felt it then, the hard length of him pressing into my stomach, straining against his pants.
Heat shot through me, making my core clench violently with need. A whimper escaped my throat.
He pressed harder, grinding himself against me, making sure I felt every inch of what I did to him. The friction sent sparks of pleasure through my body.
Ive made it abundantly clear,” he said, his voice rough with raw desire. “You’re the one still fighting it.
My body reacted without permission. I leaned into him, my thighs clenching tightly together, desperately trying to ease the ache building between them.
My breathing came in short, desperate gasps. My hands found his chest, fingers curling into his shirt, holding on like he was the only solid thing in a spinning world.
But then his phone buzzed in his pocket, breaking the spell.
Roman cursed under his breath, a string of profanity that would make anyone blush.
He pulled away slowly, though it seemed to take every ounce of his control. His hands left my body reluctantly, and I felt cold without his touch.
He frowned as he reached into his pocket, his hand visibly shaking as he pulled out his phone.
He glanced at the screen, and his expression shifted from raw desire to resignation.
“I have another meeting.” He sucked in a deep breath, as though trying to get his emotions under control, trying to calm the visible bulge in his pants. His chest heaved with the effort.
“We’ll continue this conversation later,” he added, his voice still rough with want. He adjusted himself discreetly, though not discreetly enough for me to miss it.
“Mr. Blackwood…”
“Later, Anna.” He finally turned away, not looking back as he walked down the hallway, though I noticed his hands clenched into fists at his sides.

Chapter 112
I walked into the boardroom. The global account team was already seated, waiting.
43%
#55 Vouchers
This was my third meeting with them. The first two had been disasters. They had torn apart every suggestion and made me feel like I had no business being there.
I gave the feedback to Roman. He had spent hours preparing me for this. Despite his packed schedule and meetings stacked back to back, he had taken time to walk me through everything. Every detail. Every potential objection.
“Be bold,” he had told me, leaning back in his chair, eyes intense. Be assertive. Don’t let them intimidate you. That’s how you earn respect, Anna.”
I took a deep breath and walked to the head of the table where they sat.
Fay was leaning over the desk as if she had been waiting for me. Blonde hair, pretty face, mid-thirties. Five years at Blackwood Industries. She watched me the way a cat watches a mouse. Her short skirt rode up her thighs, her blouse tight across her chest. Everything Roman might want in a woman that wasn’t. Beside her sat Sarah with dark hair, and on Fay’s other side was Marcus, the analytics lead.
“Anna.” Fay’s smile didn’t reach her eyes. “So good of you to join us.”
I was two minutes early.
“I have the updated proposals.” I set my laptop down, willing my hands not to shake.
“Of course you do.” Fay reluctantly sat. “Let’s see what Mr. Blackwood’s assistant has come up with this time.”
She said assistant like it was something disgusting.
The rest of the team laughed, not even trying to hide it.
Heat crawled up my neck. Don’t let them see it. Don’t give them the satisfaction.
I cleared my throat and pulled up the presentation. “Based on our last discussion, I’ve refined the messaging to focus more
on…”
“Can I stop you there?” Fay cut in, not even glancing at the screen. “This whole direction feels off. We’ve been running luxury campaigns for twenty years. I’m not sure someone with your limited experience understands what we’re trying to achieve
here.”
Limited experience, translation: I don’t belong here.
My face burned. “I’ve researched every major campaign Beaumont has run in the last decade. The market is shifting. Younger consumers want…”
“Younger consumers.” Marcus burst into laughter. “Anna, our target demographic isn’t teenagers on social media. These are high-net-worth individuals who expect sophistication.”
“I understand that, but…”
“Do you?” Fay looked me over from head to toe. “Because it seems like Mr. Blackwood handed you a project you’re not qualified for, and now we’re all stuck cleaning up the mess.”
Don’t lose your cool. Don’t let their words dig under your skin. Roman told you to be bold.
“The concept is solid,” I said, hating the slight tremble in my voice. “If you’d just look at the data…”
Fay chuckled in a belittling manner. “Your idea is trash.”
She stood up, pushing her chair back.

Chapter 112
སཾ343 –
“There. I said it.” She looked at Sarah and Marcus like they were all in on some joke. “Sarah, Marcus, and I have been working in this industry for decades.
She closed her laptop with a hard snap. “Look, Anna. You seem like a nice girl. Really. But you’re an assistant. This isn’t your world. Maybe you should stick to scheduling Roman’s meetings and let the professionals handle the actual work.”
The professionals, like I was a child who had wandered into the adults’ table.
“Mr. Blackwood specifically asked me to lead this project, and I’m asking you all to…” My hands clenched into fists by my sides.
Fay walked toward me, swaying her hips exaggeratedly from side to side, her chest pushed forward with each step.
“You think word hasn’t spread?” She stopped right in front of me
“About how you seduced Mr. Blackwood into your bed? How he does your bidding now, at the expense of what’s best for this company?”
She leaned in closer. “We heard he almost screwed up the deal with Laurent Beaumont because of you.”
“That’s not… I haven’t… My throat closed up.
Fay pushed her chest out, running a hand down her own waist. Save it, sweetheart. You’re not the first assistant to spread her legs for her boss, and you won’t be the last. Just don’t overstep.”
Her smile was vicious. “When Mr. Blackwood is done with you, he’ll dump you for a real woman.”
“Fay”
A deep, rough, familiar voice came from behind me.
I felt the shift in the room before I even turned around. Fay went white. Sarah’s mouth fell open. Marcus looked like he had seen a ghost.
