My eyes snapped open.

Pain exploded through my skull. The pounding started at my temples and spread outward until my entire head felt like it was splitting apart.
I groaned and tried to sit up, but my body ached and refused to cooperate. My mouth tasted bitter.
Where was I?
The ceiling above me was not Zoe’s. It had a majestic design that looked expensive.
I gripped the edge of the mattress and waited for everything to stop tilting.
This was not my bed or my sheets either. This was not my room, certainly not the kind of place you would find in her
apartment.
Panic clawed at my insides.
My heart kicked into overdrive.
I forced myself to sit up despite the nausea rolling through my stomach. The room spun.
Then I caught a familiar scent. Woodsy, masculine. It smelled like… no. It could not be.
My eyes dropped down. I was wearing a man’s shirt. Expensive fabric, way too big for me. My legs were bare underneath.
I shifted and felt the absence of fabric between my thighs.
My breath hitched.
I was completely naked underneath.
What the hell happened?
I tried to piece together how I had ended up here.
Laurent. I was supposed to meet him at that club, but he was running late when I got there, and then… Pierre?
The memories came in a rush. Pierre had welcomed me and taken me to the VIP lounge. He had offered me champagne. I had taken it because turning him down would have been rude, and I did not want to cause a scene.
After that, everything got fuzzy.
I remembered feeling wrong and dizzy. My skin had felt like it was on fire. I had wanted to reach for my phone, but he had stopped me.
Then… Roman?
No. That could not be right.
I squeezed my eyes shut and tried to focus past the pounding in my head.

Chapter 188
Roman’s face swam up through the fog. His voice. His arms carrying me.
But that did not make sense. Roman was not supposed to be there. I had been meeting Laurent, not Roman.
Unless…
The room swam again and I had to grip the mattress harder to keep from falling over. Nothing made sense.
My memories were scattered, like trying to put together a puzzle with half the pieces missing.
I needed to figure out where I was. How to get out of here.

I swung my legs over the side of the bed and stood. My knees buckled immediately, and I grabbed the nightstand to keep from collapsing.
That was when I heard it.
A low groan that was familiar in a way that made my stomach clench.
Then my name.
“Anna.”
My head snapped toward the sound. It came from somewhere nearby.
A door on the other side of the room stood partially open. Light spilled out from inside.
Another groan, deeper this time.
“Anna. Fuck.”
My feet moved before my brain could catch up. I crossed the room on shaky legs, following that voice I knew but could not quite place through the fog in my head.
I pushed the door open wider.
The bathroom was massive. All marble and glass. A rainfall shower took up one entire wall. Cold water poured down.
And standing in that shower, visible through the clear glass, was Roman.
He was completely naked.
across
Water ran over his broad shoulders, streaming down the defined planes of his chest. Hard muscle cut lines across his torso. His hair was slicked back, dark and wet, water dripping from the ends.
The air nearly left my lungs. What was Roman doing here?
He had one hand braced against the wall. The other was wrapped around his cock, stroking from base to tip in long. measured pulls.
‘Anna.” My name came out strangled, desperate.
His
eyes were closed. His head tipped back. He looked forbidden, the embodiment of sin.
A sight I should not be watching, but I could not tear my eyes away.

His hand moved faster, pumping his length with a rhythm that made heat flood between my legs.
I should turn around and leave, pretend I never saw this.
But I could not move.

My eyes stayed locked on his hand. On the way his fingers wrapped around his shaft. On the size of him. Thick. Long. Veins running up the underside. The head flushed and slick even under the cold water.
Water ran down his body, making his skin glisten. Making everything look wet and raw and wrong in a way that made my mouth go dry.
I felt an instant wetness between my thighs.
Nothing made sense. My head was pounding. My body ached. I was standing in a strange room wearing a man’s shirt with no memory of how I got here.
And Roman was in the shower, stroking himself to my name.
His hand moved faster. His breathing grew harsher. His muscles tensed.
“Fuck. Anna. Yes.”
He came with a groan that seemed to rip from deep in his chest. His hand kept moving, milking himself through it. His release painted the shower wall before the cold water washed it away.
I gasped. The sound tore from my throat before I could stop it. Shock and need collided inside me.
“Oh my God.”
His eyes flew open.
His gaze locked with mine through the glass.
We both froze.
I took a stumbling step backward. My foot caught on the edge of the doorframe, and I lurched to the side. My hip slammed into the counter. Toiletries scattered across the marble, clattering to the floor.
“What the hell?” Roman’s hand dropped from his shaft.
I stood there speechless. I could not think past the image of him burned into my brain. The way he had groaned my name.
“Anna, what are you…” He stepped out of the shower, water dripping off him onto the tiles. “You cannot just…”
He grabbed a towel and wrapped it around his waist, but not before I caught another glimpse of him, still half hard and wet.
But I was already backing away, already turning to leave. My face burned. My entire body felt too hot and too tight and too confusing.
I needed to get out of here.
I spun around and rushed back into the bedroom. My legs were shaky, but I forced them to move, to carry me away from him and what I had just witnessed.
The room swam around me. Everything looked unfamiliar. The furniture was dark wood and glass. Modern. Gleaming, like

something out of a high-end bachelor pad. Definitely not Roman’s penthouse. I had been there before, and this was not it.
So where was I?
I heard hurried footsteps behind me.
“Anna, wait.”
But I kept putting distance between us, even though I had nowhere to go.
The headache intensified. I pressed my hand to my temple and tried to think through the pain.
