Chapter 154
My voice cracked, breath ragged and urgent. “Sir, please—can I hear your news first?”
A low chuckle vibrated through his chest against my back, but he didn’t cease his gentle caress. If anything, his hold grew slightly firmer, slow and deliberate, causing my toes to curl beneath the warm water.
“Alright. My news first,” he murmured.
Even as my voice faltered, I could hear the smile threading through his words.
“Alright. My news first,” he repeated, his tone dripping with smug satisfaction as his hand glided over me beneath the bubbles. I was too overwhelmed to do anything but gasp for breath, silently begging for mercy.
“One of the scouts I invited last night called me this morning,” he whispered, his lips grazing my ear. “He said he was impressed—not just with how I’m training the team, but with you. He wants more eyes on you, and fast.”
His grip tightened just a fraction, making me let out a soft whimper.
“They’ve invited us to a luncheon tomorrow in Houston. Big deal, Noah. Press, boosters, scouts—the kind of exposure that gets your name remembered in the right circles. You’ll meet the heavy hitters, the ones who actually pull strings. A couple of interviews, and by the day’s end, you’ll be on everyone’s radar. Then…” He nipped my ear playfully, sending a shiver down my spine. “Maybe we celebrate with a nice hotel stay afterward.”
My heart raced.
His words hit me harder than his touch ever could. My entire body trembled against him, my cock throbbing in his hand, my mind spinning at all the things he’d done for me.
I wanted to tell him about William—as an extra victory—but how could I possibly ruin this moment?
“Thank you…” My voice broke, fragile and sincere. I couldn’t shatter this perfect bubble—not when he was this excited, not when he was touching me like this.
So I did the only thing I could do. I let myself drown in him.
Aiden’s kiss was deep and consuming, swallowing every ounce of my resistance until my head spun and my chest ached with need. When he finally pulled back, his thumb brushed softly over my lip.
5:21 pm
Lexic, I can’t go tomorrow. He’s taking me to this day event out of town—really important, something he worked hard to secure—and I can’t say no. It’s in my contract too.
The typing bubbles appeared almost instantly.
But can’t you make it to the dinner after?
My stomach twisted into knots. I bit my lip, staring at the screen before quickly typing back:
He’s driving me back, but I don’t want to rush him or run off the second we get there. I’m sorry.
I shoved the phone down just as I heard the garage door open, silently hoping I hadn’t just lost the chance of a lifetime.
