Maxwell stood out the most, since he always loved attention and never kept a low profile.
After trouble struck the Nygard Residence, the three of them had all toned themselves down a great deal.
They almost stopped going clubbing and drastically reduced those meaningless gatherings with questionable friends.
It was not just about reforming themselves, but about throwing everything they had into Nygard Group and spending their days figuring out how to keep it afloat.
The only reason they showed up together today was because they heard Jeremy was here, so they came over.
They truly took their mother's advice to heart.
If they wanted their sister back, they had to start with their brother-in-law.
So they set aside their pride and came anyway.
"Who told you..."
"Sure. Sit down."
Anderson was about to drive them away, but Jeremy spoke first.
As a lifelong friend, Anderson knew exactly how ugly things were between his buddy's woman and her brothers.
To be precise, almost everyone in their circle knew Amelia and the Nygard Residence were on terrible terms.
If Amelia disliked them, then his boss definitely was not fond of them either.
Yet now he allowed them to sit, and Anderson had no idea what kind of move his boss planned to make.
He complained silently but trusted that his boss had his own reasons.
So he kept quiet, shifted aside, and made space for the three Nygards.
The brothers clearly did not expect this reaction from Jeremy, and surprise flashed across their faces.
Then, as if clinging to a lifeline, they thanked him quickly and sat down, stiff and uneasy.
Three grown men, yet in front of Jeremy they looked like schoolboys caught doing something wrong, unsure where to put their hands.
Jeremy kept a neutral expression, a cigarette burning between his fingers as smoke drifted around him. His deep eyes swept over the three as he said evenly, "You need something from me?"
It was impossible to tell whether he was annoyed or amused, but the pressure was heavy either way.
Marcelo, being the eldest, had no choice but to speak first.
He cleared his throat, rubbed his palms together, and said cautiously, "We came because of Amelia."
He watched Jeremy's expression closely, and when nothing changed, he quickly added another comment.
