Crowned by the Man They Feared (Amelia and Jeremy) novel Chapter 708

Jeremy had long since disappeared into the house to find Amelia for some private time, leaving Marcelo, Miguel, and Maxwell to handle the heavy lifting. The three brothers were a blur of motion, each determined to outdo the other in helpfulness.

They watched in stunned silence as the butler supervised a seemingly endless stream of gifts. Within minutes, three guest rooms had been packed to the ceiling with exquisite boxes and silk-wrapped packages.

The brothers exchanged bewildered looks. It was a staggering display, the kind of excess that made it look like the Currans had personally raided the national treasury.

Amelia stared at the mountain of offerings, momentarily speechless. She looked at Bridget and Whitney with a mix of amusement and disbelief. "This is far too much. At this rate, we'll have to build an extension just to store it all."

Ursula and Thea were equally taken aback. In all their years, they had never seen a family show this level of generosity. Ursula cleared her throat, trying to maintain her composure as the family matriarch. "Exactly. Your presence is gift enough. There was no need for all this formality."

Deep down, however, Ursula felt a profound sense of relief. Seeing how much the Currans valued her granddaughter laid her worries to rest. She knew Amelia would be cherished in her new home, and if anything ever went wrong, the Nygards were finally strong enough to stand behind her.

Bridget watched the scene with a quiet joy. To see her family reconciled and thriving before she reached the end of her days was more than she had ever hoped for.

The only ache that remained was the one no happiness could quite reach, Raymond who was not here to see any of it. Her eyes went wet before she could stop them.

But it was a day for joy, not grief, and so she turned her face just slightly and pressed her fingers to the corner of her eye, quick and quiet, before anyone could notice.

"It's nothing," Whitney said, dismissing the concern with a laugh. "Everything the Currans own will eventually belong to Jeremy and Amelia anyway. A wedding gift should show sincerity."

If anything, she felt she hadn't given enough. She had only held back because she didn't want to overwhelm them by moving half her estate over all at once.

She didn't realize that they were already well beyond the point of being startled. Whitney then reached into her bag and handed Amelia a gift. "A little something for our first meeting. Please, you must accept it."

"Thank you, Whitney," Amelia said, taking the gift.

Bridget followed suit, pulling out an even larger one. "Just a small token of my affection. You two look after each other. You have a long life ahead of you."
