Chapter 2377: Demon God’s Wrath

After leaving the Deprived Crimson Valley, Supreme Ruler Dena looked at Yuan and asked, "What now?"

"Before we decide what we want to do, I need to know what you plan on doing now, Lev." Yuan turned to face Lev, who stood still with a dumbfounded look on his face, almost as if he was still having trouble believing that he was outside of the Deprived Crimson Valley.

However, he quickly snapped out of it and said, "Although I am grateful to you for helping me leave the Deprived Crimson Valley, it won’t change the fact that I am still an exile, and that my soul is still branded as one. But that won’t stop me from avenging my family!"

Yuan then asked Supreme Ruler Dena, "Can you do something about the branding with your Authority?"

She calmly nodded and pointed a finger at Lev.

"..."

Lev swallowed nervously, wondering what she was going to do to him.

The ’Authority’ symbol appeared on Supreme Ruler Dena’s forehead again, and the next second, a single strand of her crimson hair suddenly shot toward Lev’s forehead, penetrating his skin like it was wet paper and striking his soul.

"It’s done," she calmly said as she retrieved her hair.

"What...?"

Lev wore a blank look on his face, as if he didn’t even realize what she’d done to him. In fact, it happened so fast that he wasn’t even able to react!

"Congratulations, Lev. You’re no longer an exile," Yuan said with a faint smile.

Before Lev could respond, Yuan continued, "I won’t tell you how to live your life, but I wouldn’t recommend dedicating it entirely to revenge. I’ve lived that way before, and it leads nowhere good."

Lev lowered his head to stare at the ground for a moment before responding in a low voice, "Then what else am I supposed to do?"

"I survived the Deprived Crimson Valley for so long because of my desire to avenge my family. However, now that I think about it, with how much time has passed, I doubt I will even be able to find the person who killed them—if they’re even still alive."

Yuan then spoke, "If you don’t know what you want to do, why don’t you continue following us for now and think it over? Perhaps you might find a new purpose in life. That said, I cannot guarantee your safety."

Lev didn’t need to spend much time pondering about Yuan’s offer and quickly nodded, "If you don’t mind having me, it’d be an honor to continue being by your side."

"Now then..." Yuan looked at Supreme Ruler Dena and said, "Let’s figure out why you were exiled first before we decide on anything."

"How are we going to do that?"

"We can ask around—"

"Please don’t do that." Lev suddenly interrupted.

"Have you forgotten? We are prohibited from mentioning her name outside the Deprived Crimson Valley," he reminded Yuan.

"So what? It’s not like such rules have never been broken before."

However, instead of Lev, Supreme Ruler Dena spoke, "No, he’s right. If the current Supreme Ruler prohibited my name from being mentioned, anyone who utters it—even if nobody is listening—will be struck by the Demon God’s Wrath."

Yuan raised an eyebrow at this information, wondering if this Demon God’s Wrath was akin to Heavenly Tribulation in his world, where those who defy the Heavenly Laws will be punished.

"This is my first time hearing about such a thing," he remarked.

"What? How is that even possible?" Lev stared at Yuan in disbelief. "The Demon God’s Wrath is basic common sense. Even a newborn knows about it."

"Oh, right." Yuan glanced at him and smiled. "Since you’ll continue traveling with us from now on, I should probably catch you up on a few things."

"First of all, I am not from this world."

"Huh?" Lev’s eyes widened as he tried to comprehend Yuan’s words.

However, Yuan wasn’t done, and he continued to bombard Lev with more shocking revelations.

"Not only do I not belong to this world, but I’m also not a demon. I’m actually a human. That’s why there are many things about this world that I don’t know," Yuan revealed.

"Although I visited this place before, it’s been so long that most of my knowledge is probably no longer reliable."

"..."

After several moments of silence, Lev finally spoke in a nervous tone, "I knew you were strange, but to think you’re actually from the world of countless legends... the Divine Heaven!"

He continued, "I read in some ancient history books that the Forsaken used to be sent there to save resources and space, but for some reason, that practice stopped."

"Ahem."

Supreme Ruler Dena suddenly cleared her throat loudly before speaking. "That’s not correct. We didn’t send the Forsaken to the Divine Heaven. At the time, we weren’t even aware of its existence. We only believed we were sending the Forsaken somewhere into the boundless void."
