Dark Queen Of Apocalypse (by Morgan Hale) novel Chapter 324

Chapter 324

We’ve been searching for hours and still haven’t found anything useful. Just my luck,Chloe thought.

The wind whipped around them, sand flying everywhere. Everyone was busy trying to keep their footing, and nobody noticed that Chloe had been gone for hours.

Minute by minute, time slipped away.

The three pterosaurs were locked in a brutal battle, fighting tooth and claw until the outcome slowly became clear.

The first pterosaur had the edge in strength, but against two opponents, it was outmatched and struggling.

Just as it was locked in combat with the male, the female swooped in from the side and sank her teeth into its neck. It let our a bloodcurdling scream.

Blood sprayed like a fountain, and as its neck broke, its wings faltered. It crashed straight down from the sky.

Grim’s face went pale. Shit, everyone, run!

If that mountainsized monster came crashing down, it’d turn them into pulp.

Just as Chloe was about to leap into the air, Rebecca, who was closest, grabbed her wrist.

She was trying to drag Chloe with her to make a run for it.

Chloe frowned, then tossed Rebecca far away with a single move. Rebecca crashed into a foam board nearby, but she wasn’t

hurt.

Rebecca’s jaw dropped in shock, but before she could even get her bearings, something even scarier happened.

Right before everyone’s eyes, the girl who looked so fragile suddenly lifted off the ground and shot straight up, heading right for the falling pterosaur.

Don’t,Rebecca called out, but her words were cut short.

Because the moment that helplessgirl touched the pterosaur, the massive beast disappeared without a trace.

Wait, a spacepowered human?the man with narrow eyes stammered.

He was still reaching out, but seeing this, he finally let his guard down a little.

That makes sense. There’s no way a weak girl without spacepowered abilities and no teammates could survive in this dangerous world, he thought.

Now that Chloe had shown her spacepowered abilities, he actually felt relieved.

But his relief barely lasted a second before he yelled, Get out of there!

The two pterosaurs in the sky saw their prey vanish into thin air and shrieked, fixing their sights on Chloe.

With razorsharp beaks pointed at her, the mountainsized monsters divebombed straight down.

It’s over, it’s over, it’s over, she’s doomed. That girl’s totally toast,someone blurted out.

Chapter 324

It’s all my fault. If I hadn’t tried to drag her away, she wouldn’t be in this mess,Itzel said, guilt gnawing at her.

She was completely powerless now.

She shut her eyes, heart heavy with regret.

Just then, she heard her teammate let out a startled scream, and her eyes flew open.

Inch by inch, she turned her head, following her teammate’s gaze.

Out of nowhere, Chloe was holding a colossal ice sword, easily over 300 feet long.

65 Vounti

There she was, a tiny figure suspended in midair, gripping a weapon hundreds of times her size. The scene was nothing short of jawdropping.

Huh? That ice sword looks really familiar,Rebecca thought to herself.

Before anyone could even react, Chloe and her giant ice sword vanished in an instant, only to appear right at the female pterosaur’s throat.

Die!Chloe shouted.

With that sound, her sword sliced clean through the female pterosaur’s neck. Blood gushed out, soaking the earth crimson.

Its enormous head came crashing down from the sky, smashing a building into ruins.

The female pterosaur’s body disappeared in midair, and Chloe vanished along with it.

With her spacepowered abilities, she could jump up into the air for a bit, but she couldn’t remain airborne for long.

By the time Chloe touched down, the male pterosaur only then realized his mate had been killed.

Letting out a furious, skyshaking roar, it divebombed straight at her, hellbent on ripping this human to shreds.

With every beat of its wings, a storm of wind and sand exploded into the air.

Cars were tossed sideways, trees and power poles ripped right out of the ground.

Everyone clung desperately to anything heavy they could grab, so they wouldn’t get blown away.

But the sandstorm only lasted three seconds before things settled down.

When Grim and the others finally opened their eyes, the male pterosaur had vanished, and there was suddenly a giant head lying on the ground.

Blood gushed from its severed neck, and its eyes stared wide, refusing to close even in death.

Chloe was just fixing her hair, trying to smooth out the mess the wind had made.

Out of nowhere, the man with narrow eyes screamed out loud.

His hand shook as he pointed at her, lips trembling so hard he could barely form words.

She, she, shehe stammered.

Grim dropped to his knees with a thud. Big shot, so it was you all along! I was totally blind, please, don’t hold it against me!

Everyone suddenly got it, and their faces drained of all color in terror.

Wait, did I just pat the big shot on the shoulder? Am I about to get chopped in half with that sword?Grim wondered.

Man, I just want to cry, he thought.

No wonder Chloe just disappeared without a trace, and no wonder this girl didn’t have a speck of dust on her, he thought.

Who said she was some helpless little girl? She’s basically the queen here, holding the power of life and death in her hands, he realized.

Chloe swept her gaze over the people on the ground, her expression calm and nonchalant.

Not bad, Chloe thought to herself.

You guys heading to Faircrest?Chloe asked.

Yes, that’s right. It’s known as the granary of the world. We’re hoping to get lucky there,” Grim replied, still a bit nervous.

Alright, take me with you,” Chloe said.

Everyone looked up at her in unison.

Chloe’s gaze was icy. What, you don’t want to?

Everyone looked like they were about to cry. It wasn’t that they didn’t want to; they just didn’t dare.

Word was, big shots with crazy power could be totally unpredictable. Who knew if this one would just kill them on a whim if she got pissed?

Yyes, we’re willing!the man with narrow eyes quickly answered.

He was the smartest one in the group, and he quickly sized up the situation, weighing the pros and cons in a flash.

Chloe looked dangerous, but she didn’t seem like the type to kill people just for fun; otherwise, she would’ve taken them out long ago.

If they could team up with her, at least they wouldn’t have to worry about those mutant beasts dropping out of the sky
