Dear Wife, I Hate You (by Josephine Mbanefo) novel Chapter 38

Nolan’s Pov

The moment I stepped into my mansion, the cool silence welcomed me.

I headed upstairs. First person I saw was Zoey.

“Hi,” she said, rubbing her eyes like she’d just woken up from another world.

I gave her a small nod.

“Why didn’t you wake me up?” she asked. “I overslept. I don’t even know what happened to me.”

“I don’t know,” I said, walking past her a bit. “You looked knocked out. Like you ate something that hit hard. I called your name a few times, but you didn’t budge.”

She squinted at me. “What if I was dead?”

“You weren’t. I checked your breathing,” I said flatly, giving her a look.

She rolled her eyes, but then her voice softened. “So… how did it go?”

“I met up with him. I’ll take care of it.”

She stepped closer, looking relieved. “Thank you so much,” she said, then wrapped her arms around me.

I didn’t move for a second, just let her hug me. She needed that.

Then she said she was heading to her office, the one we set up for her here in the mansion.

I told her I had a few things to handle too.

Once I got to my office, I sat behind the desk, opened my laptop, and started going through some files. Minutes passed. Maybe more. I wasn’t keeping track.

Then I remembered the camera.

The one I’d set up discreetly. Just to check in. Just to make sure she was okay.

Lilith.

I opened the feed.

Clicked into the live view.

At first, I thought it would be nothing. Just her reading. Maybe on her phone. Maybe asleep.

But what I saw…

Damn.

Lilith was alone. Thinking. Contemplating.

Touching her lips.

Then lower.

She was clearly trying to stop herself. Fighting it.

But God, it was sexy as hell.

She stopped like she was doing something wrong….but then, She started again.

My eyes were glued to the screen as she revealed her lace panties, the thin fabric doing little to hide the outline of her pussy.

She hooked her fingers into the waistband and slid them down, letting them fall to the floor.

I felt my cock twitch in my pants as she spread her legs, giving me a full view of her glistening pussy. I tried to look away, to redirect my thoughts, but it was useless. She had already taken hold of my mind, and I was too far gone.

Then her fingers began to wander–down her collarbone, skimming the curve of her breast. I held my breath as she cupped it, her thumb brushing over her nipple through the fabric. I could see the hard outline, and a wave of heat surged through me.

Then her hands moved down to her folds.

Lilith’s fingers began to move in slow, circular motions, teasing her clit as she let out a soft moan. I could see her chest rising and falling with her quickening breath, and I felt my own breath mirroring hers. I reached down, unbuttoning my pants and pulling out my cock. It was already hard, throbbing with anticipation as I began to stroke it in time with her movements.

Before I realized what I was doing, my hand was at my crotch, fumbling with the zipper. I knew I shouldn’t, knew it was wrong–but the pressure was unbearable. I freed my cock, already hard and aching, and began to stroke it slowly, never taking my eyes off the screen.

She nodded slowly, then walked into the office, her eyes scanning the room. For a moment, they lingered near the camera feed on the screen.

If I hadn’t changed it…

She would’ve seen everything. Seen me for the obsessed man I was turning into.

“Is there any problem?” I asked, voice flat but polite.

Zoey shook her head, her smile returning. “Nope. I just came to say thanks again… and to spend some time with you.”

“I’m working now.”

“Oh.” .. was Lilith.

More deliberate. “Well, you can work now. I have something special

She said it slowly, eyes meeting mine with that look—the kind that wanted to pull something out of me.

But I wasn’t in the mood.

“I’ll be busy throughout, Zoey,” I said coldly. “Just find something to do.”

Her eyes dimmed a little, just for a second.

Then I added, “I’ll make it up to you soon.”

That brought a bit of light back. She smiled again, even if it wasn’t full. “Okay. I’ll just be working too, then.”

I gave a small nod, and she walked out of the office.

I exhaled deeply, hands sinking into my pockets.

Just one mistake can cost me a lot.
