Ditched Cheating Alpha, I Led My Daughter to Life's Peak novel Chapter 124

"Excuse me?" she screams.

He pales. "I'm sorry. Please don't tell Coach Kenet I said that."

I try to sit up while they argue back and forth.

Axel gently holds me still. "Don't move. I don't want you to pass out again."

"I'm fine," I try to say. I don't know how much of it comes out coherently. He doesn't budge, so I shoulder him off. I don't want him on me right now. I just want to get up. "Let go."

"Okay, I won't touch you." He moves his hands away. "Just don't move. Please."

I stay still long enough for him to let me go, then I start getting up.

"Mia," he says shocked, betrayed.

"Forget it. I'll do it myself." Aiden walks over to where I can't see him.

"Since when do we call an ambulance when people pass out for two seconds?" Carson asks.

I can just feel the look Aiden gives him. "She's got an existing heart condition. You're just waiting for her to die."

"It's only been a few minutes. People don't die that quickly." Carson pauses. "... Right?"

"I guess we'll find out," Aiden says.

There's silence for a while.

"Oh my god, why isn't someone calling an ambulance?" Carson screams.

I'd slap my forehead if I had the energy. I just swat Axel's hands away and sit up. "No ambulance."

The nurse and Carson, who are currently fighting over the phone, look up. "What?"

"No. Ambulance." I feel like I'm gonna fall back or face first, but I try to stay up. I try to look better. "Don't call my parents."

They look at each other, then back at me. Then they look at the phone.

Aiden's eyes connect with mine. He does a once over and then says without any hesitation, "Don't listen to her. She's incapacitated."

"I'm wide awake," I say, feeling lightheaded.

"You're a minor incapable of making your own medical decisions, especially in your current state." He narrows his eyes at me before turning to everyone else. "Unless we want a lawsuit, we need to tell her parents. They'll find out."

He backs away just a little.

The nurse decides to talk. "I apologize for insulting you, Luna. Customarily, mates have access to all privacy rights. As a member of this pack, I can't legally withhold any medical information about you from them. Nor can I do the reverse."

"So they have to be in here with me?"

She looks at the three of them, then back at me. "Logically I won't be the one to try to force them out. I could call the betas and some of the advisors. Maybe that might work... Oh! Do you have anymore pepper spray? Onai was telling me how..."

I groan into my hands. "You know what? Forget it. You guys do this by popular vote right?" I look between the brothers. "Well then Carson. Axel. Don't let them call an ambulance or my parents. End of discussion."

Everyone goes silent in the room.

"Mia..." Axel eventually says.

I look at him. "I'll lie down, I'll stay here, and I'll comply I'll rest and eat my crackers or whatever you guys have here. I'll even drink my water," I say snarkily towards Aiden. "But if you guys call my parents..." I look at Carson and I don't say anything. I hope they get what I'm trying to say. Shit'll hit the fan. I'm not playing with them.

"What if your brother finds out?" Aiden asks.

I shrug. "We only have lunch together. He won't find out."

Sure enough my parents don't get called, but no one's happy about it. Instead of going to the hospital, the nurse does the best she can from her office in the school-which I would like to point out is pretty advanced technologically. It looks like a large hospital room with over a dozen beds well spaced out from each other. They even have dividing curtains and enough room for us all to fit in one space comfortably.
