Ditched Cheating Alpha, I Led My Daughter to Life's Peak novel Chapter 236

We say our goodbyes. Carson promises to visit again soon-with his brothers.

My eyes widen. What? Michael laughs, but no one understands why. Honestly, that's an event I'd prefer not to be a part of. Aiden and my dad? Please. And then Aiden and Megan? Pft. Headache here I come.

My parents'll love Axel though. I smile.

On the way out, I get a lecture about "my curfew." I've never had a "curfew" in my life, but it's effective as of right now young lady.

I roll my eyes and say, "I love you too, Dad."

I'm not gonna lie, I love everything about Carson's car. The color. The design. The interior, but not the driver at the moment. I expect him to speed like before, but he's actually doing 25 on a 25. When he makes the turn, I anticipate some momentum but-

35 on a 35.

Omg. I'm both disappointed and relieved. We're definitely safe, but if he doesn't hit the gas soon I'm gonna... I breathe in. I try to be patient, because he cares. I remind myself he just cares about me. That's why he's driving like a turtle.

When I sit back, I notice another problem. It's really, really cold. I'm basically in a freezer right now. If I didn't know any better, I'd say he has the air on, but that's crazy. It's the middle of winter. He wouldn't do that.

I keep quiet, because if it's a problem with his car, I don't want to embarrass him by pointing it out. It's a short drive anyway.

"By the way," I say. "I brought Axel's tools."

"Yeah?" Carson asks.

I nod, watching the buildings pass by. "He left them at my house yesterday. Could you give them back for me?"

"Of course." He smirks. "Anything for you."

"Thanks." I turn to the back seat, pulling the plastic bag out of my regular so he doesn't forget it.

"And Aiden's hoodie?" he asks.

I hesitate. "What?"

"Nothing."

I eye him suspiciously.

He sits back in his seat, looking comfortable, unassuming. But when we stop at a red light, he looks at me from the corner of his eyes. "It's okay, Mia. I'm happy to take it off your hands."

"I don't have it on me," I say.

"You forgot it?" he asks.

I shake my head. All of this. "You did all of this just to get even with your brother?"

He gives me a dirty look. "How could you sleep in another man's hoodie?"

"You can't freeze me for it." I try to change the temperature, but he's got control of it from the steering wheel. He's lost his mind!

"Don't look at me like that. Red's your color anyway."

You know what? I look at him incredulously. My life's not worth it. I put the damned jacket on, hoping the school will appear soon. He's been taking every red light possible. Now I know why.

I thought he was being cautious. Now I know he's just a closet yandere.

At the next, and hopefully last, red light, he grins, leaning against my neck. "There we go." He breathes in my scent with golden eyes. "Much better."

He better get ready for a talk later. This kind of behavior can never, and I mean never, happen again. It's borderline creepy. But I'm also reminded of something else when he leans his head against mine, softly.

I can't help noticing that I'm sitting in my boyfriend's car-one of my three boyfriends' cars. Who just so happens to be a werewolf. Who just so happens to be an alpha. Like wtf?

What do I even do with that information? I stare down at his signature red jacket that I'm now wearing. Never in a million years did I think any of this would be possible. "You know," I start.
