Ditched Cheating Alpha, I Led My Daughter to Life's Peak novel Chapter 260

---

The beta and two other werewolves from Dusk follow their alpha and luna, nodding to us as they pass. It leaves a group of people that look noticeably different. The Moonlight Pack. Instead of having silver hair, they have no color to their eyes at all.

There's a relatively short girl standing like she's larger than life. She looks like she's ready to take anyone on, and at that moment, I realize this is the pack with the female alpha. Two guards stand behind her, one a guy and one a girl, and then there's another guy beside her. I assume he's the lunai, given the fact that he towers over the rest, like the brothers.

When the girl sees that I'm looking at her, she stands straighter, sizing me up. I raise an eyebrow. Does she want me to say hi first?

I look at the brothers, but they aren't looking at her at all. They're staring at this strange girl who's eyeing the ceiling. I didn't even notice her before because she's off to the side, darting her blank eyes around. I follow her gaze, but I don't see anything.

Um... I look at Axel. He shakes his head, like, 'Don't say anything.'

The guy from before, the one who I think is lunai, walks over to her calmly. He taps her shoulder, gesturing to us. "Alpha."

She raises an eyebrow. Then her eyes connect with mine. "Oh." Her voice is so soft. She smiles at us.

I smile back, but she doesn't say anything else.

Silence.

"Maybe we should sit down?" Aiden offers.

Everyone airees.

"Silvermoon, Bloodmoon, and Dawn were having disagreements of their own."

The luna of the Dusk Pack demands that she gets a lemonade with cheetos. She won't make it through the day without a lemonade with cheetos.

"Okay, babe. Anything you want." Dawson checks to make sure there's more than one of each before giving her what she wants.

The second she opens the bag, she fights back tears.

His face pales. "What? What is it?"

Her lips tremble.

He's falling apart trying to figure out what's wrong.

"I don't want cheetos." The tears spill. "I want fritos."

"Okay. It's fine." He goes to get her some.

"But I opened the cheetos!" She waves them around.

He rubs her shoulder. "It's okay. I'll eat them."

I grab a pepsi and hand it to Axel. He raises an eyebrow. Carson looks equally confused. I use the can to point at Aiden. Carson chuckles. "Oh, this is gonna be good," he whispers.

I nudge his shoulder. "I'm being serious."

Axel tries not to laugh, handing the can over. Aiden double takes at it, giving Axel the most disgusted look ever. "What is that?" He and Ethel were having a conversation with the Moonlight Pack. Not anymore.

Axel smiles, 'innocently.' "Mia wanted you to have this."

"Get that poison away from me." Aiden glares.

Ethel chokes on his pepsi.

"Here we go," Bri, Krys, and Onai mutter. "Are they really about to fight over this?" "Couldn't even make it through one afternoon." "Pepsi? Really?"

I cock my head back.

They sip their drinks carefully.

"From now on, Mia." Carson pulls me closer. "Just give me things. I'll always be grateful."

I roll my eyes. Aiden mutters something under his breath, but Axel tries to keep the peace. "What were you saying Dawson?" He talks over his brothers.

But the luna of Dusk has another thing on her mind. "I'm sorry," she says. "I don't mean to pry, but..." She looks between Carson and Axel. "Which one are you dating?"
