Ditched Cheating Alpha, I Led My Daughter to Life's Peak novel Chapter 303

Her eyes bulge. "What do you mean?" She can barely look at me.

"Why are you surprised? I thought you said the rumors-"

"You told me not to believe the rumors!"

"Well, this one's different."

Her face burns. Her head snaps towards Ethel. "You're not with-"

"No," I say quickly.

Ethel shakes his head, but she narrows her eyes at me, stepping in front of him. She holds Fei closer.

Each reveal gets crazier and crazier. It's like we have to confess almost everyday. Maybe we should make T-shirts.

When we get to the pack house, we see Michael standing in the lawn. "My parents taught me not to hit girls, so Suzie..." He glares at Bri and Krys who are blocking him from entering the house. "I choose you."

Suzie starts swinging her designer bag. "Take this. And this."

Bri and Krys dodge the attacks within an inch of their lives. "Watch where you're swinging that thing!"

"Beat 'em down." Michael jabs the air. "Show 'em who's boss."

"We said we don't know where Mia is." Bri smacks the purse away.

It lands in the dirt. Krys and Suzie cry in horror.

"Not my Serpenti Bulgari!"

"Not her Serpenti Bulgari!"

"I didn't mean to..." Bri freezes. "I just-"

"You're going to pay for that." Suzie launches herself on the girl.

Before she hits her target, a labor and defense guard catches her midair. It's Dante. He holds her over his shoulder, glaring at the other three. "Can we not do this right now?"

"Unhand me." Suzie claws at his back. "I'll have you tried for crimes against the luna."

"Why?" He wrestles her bright pink nails.

"Because she's missing, you fool!"

"She's right there," he says.

Suzie looks in my direction. "Mia." Her eyes soften. She pushes Dante away, almost sending him flying to the ground. "Girl, we thought you were halfway to Bloodmoon territory by now." She walks beside Michael.

They high-five each other. "We found her."

"I knew we would."

"Oh wait, you forgot your-"

"My Serpenti Bulgari!" She runs back.

Michael tries not to laugh.

Dante has an expression that could only read, 'They don't pay me enough for this.'

"I can't get an imprint," Michael mocks. "I'm half-vampire."

"Half what?" Dante asks.

I smack my forehead. Bri and Krys exchange looks, but Suzie signals for them not to say anything. Aiden walks to the front door through the chaos. "When will this day be over?" he asks.

Ethel slumps against the stairs. "I just don't get why Bri and Krys get to guard Shen while she uses the bathroom."

"It's not for her safety. It's for yours." Aiden looks at him. "You're vulnerable right now."

"I'm what?" Ethel holds his chest, sweating.

Aiden nods. "Everything she says will sound like a good idea to you, even if it's commiting treason." Aiden snaps his gaze to me. "You'd know a lot about that, wouldn't you, Mia?"

I cock my head back. Here he goes, making excuses again for why he can't resist me.

"But upstairs is so far away." Ethel frowns. "What if something happens? What if she-"

"-manages to make it five minutes without you?" Onai asks.

All the guys chuckle.

Ethel looks away, blushing. "Whatever."

"Just get over here." Aiden stares at the map on the coffee table. He circles the nursing home and the Farmer's Market at the same time Ethel sits down. That makes four people on the couch across from me-Onai, Axel, Aiden, and Ethel.

I'm in between Michael and Carson on the other couch, and Suzie's on the other side of Michael.
