Chapter 893 In a Relationship

“Hahaha!” Halle burst out laughing. “I’m not making fun of you. I just realized this is what security feels like. Being cared for, being held like I matter. I’ve honestly never felt this with anyone before.”
James looked very pleased after hearing that. “That’s because your exes were terrible. Edgar was just a man-child who refused to grow up. You had to act like his mom and take care of his emotions. And the rest of
your exes? One worse than the next- pretty boys, all younger than you, all needing you to worry about them. There’s no way they could ever take care of you. You should’ve switched things up a long time ago.”
“That’s true,” Halle admitted. “Back then, I didn’t understand what was good about someone like you.”
James smiled. “Well, now you can find out.”
As soon as he said that, he leaned in and kissed her deeply.
James stayed with Halle for a whole week.
During that time, Ayla wanted to come visit her. But Halle video called her instead, saying she was getting better and telling her to focus on her own work.
Ayla knew her best friend too well. She could tell Halle was hiding something, but she didn’t know what.
Another week passed. When James invited Draven out for dinner, he made sure to include Halle.
Ayla showed up thinking it was just a normal gathering.
It wasn’t.
She had been worried about Halle the whole time. Even though she hadn’t been there in person, she checked in every day. She could feel Halle getting better bit by bit.

The moment she saw Halle, she ignored James completely and rushed straight to her.
“You look so much better! I’m really happy for you!” Ayla hooked her arm around Halle’s and leaned close.
Halle smiled and ignored James too.
The two of them immediately started chatting. Talking always helped ease stress.
They both felt lucky to have found each other in this life. They were going to be best friends forever
Draven, on the other hand, saw everything clearly. He glanced at James
James was on the phone, calling Herman, Will, Blake, and the others.
After he hung up, he saw how deep in conversation Halle and Ayla were, so he didn’t interrupt. Instead, he pulled out a chair and sat down with Draven.

You’ve been chasing her for a long time,” Draven said. “Looks like you finally made it.”

“You actually noticed? Jages laughed. “Guess I couldn’t hide it from you. Yeah, it took a while-but I’m happy with the result.
James had told Draven about his feelings for Halle early on, back when both of them were still single.
Later, Draven got together with Ayla first, so James really had been waiting a long time.
“Congrats,” Draven said.
James smirked. “Don’t rush to congratulate me. You and Ayla have been together for almost a year now. You’ve even been raising a kid together so well. You’re not just going to stay like this forever, right?”
Draven understood what he meant.
James was hinting at marriage.
Their relationship was already strong, so whether they were officially married didn’t seem that important.
Still, Draven had been thinking about proposing.
“Find a time and help me set something up,” Draven said. “I’m ready to plan this seriously.”
James nodded. “Hope it goes well. I’ve got faith in you.”
Draven accepted the blessing.
Soon, everyone James had invited arrived.
At first, it really did seem like a normal dinner. Nothing unusual.
But halfway through the meal, James picked up his utensils and tapped lightly on his glass, drawing everyone’s attention.
Will spoke first. “You got something to say?”
Blake looked excited. “Now I’m curious.”
Herman didn’t say anything. After quietly observing everyone’s expressions, he already had a good guess. He simply folded his hands on his lap and waited calmly for James to make his announcement.
James dragged it out. “Will, want to take a guess?”
“You’re hosting a party?”
“Nope.
“A group trip?”
“Nope.”
