"People really do have different fates," Housekeeper Genesis murmured. "They're both wealthy heiresses, but look at the White family's daughter-in-law. Her husband treasures her like she's made of glass. Then look at our Miss Grover. Her own parents don't even check in on her."
"Madam is at the company every day running things," Housekeeper Paisley replied. "As for Sir, who knows what he's been busy with lately. You can't even catch a glimpse of him. The atmosphere in the house is just weird. I have this awful feeling something terrible is about to happen."
"It's all because of what Miss did. She had a perfectly good life and just had to stir up trouble. Sigh," Genesis let out a long, heavy breath.
Paisley leaned in closer. "Has Mrs. White checked into the delivery room yet?"
"She checked in three days ago. Her due date is any day now, and she's even staying on the same floor as our Miss."
"I heard she's having twins, a boy and a girl. The White family is truly blessed this time."
Listening to their incessant chirping, Nancy felt a blinding surge of irritation and weakly rasped out, "Shut up!"
Startled, Paisley and Genesis immediately fell silent, too terrified to utter another word.
The room plunged back into quiet isolation.
In her groggy state, Nancy slipped into a vivid dream.
