Divorce Failed! My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 183

When Emilio killed those girls, he was already an adult.

To dodge legal consequences, the Rodriguez family had paid heavily to alter his records and make him "a minor."

But once the Rodriguez family fell into trouble, their competitors smelled blood. They greased palms, called in favors, and dragged every illegal thing the Rodriguez family had ever done into the light.

Online, the condemnation of Emilio grew louder and louder—so loud it nearly drowned out the feud between Maeve and the Morales family.

Maeve eyed Andres. "This blowing up… you didn't give it a push, did you?"

Andres didn't deny it. "I'm not touching the Morales family—for now. But you're not stopping me from handling the Rodriguez family."

Maeve: "…"

The backlash against Maeve was getting worse by the day. Andres needed a way to redirect the fire.

The Rodriguez family was a perfect piece on the board.

Compared to "a sister refusing to donate a kidney," a rich kid who'd allegedly taken multiple lives and still walked free was a far more explosive story.

Meanwhile, the Morales family was searching everywhere for Maeve, trying to use public pressure to force her to show herself.

It helped that Maeve had been sick—staying home, behaving, and wrapped in Andres's protection so tightly no one could get close.

But after three straight days trapped in the bedroom, even Maeve started to crack.

If she stayed in bed any longer, she'd turn into furniture.

Not long after morning broke on the fourth day, Andres got an important call and left.

After washing up, Maeve went downstairs for breakfast.

"Miss Vance, you're up."

A stranger stepped into Maeve's line of sight.

A short-haired woman in a maid's uniform, around thirty. Plain-looking, with an honest smile. Maeve's first impression wasn't bad.

Under Maeve's questioning gaze, the woman introduced herself.

Ella didn't mention what that really meant—that blacklisted house staff weren't just fired. They were punished, then dumped somewhere remote to fend for themselves.

The White family paid far above market rate.

And when someone broke the rules, they showed no mercy.

Maeve's realization came a beat late. "Did Remi mess up? Is that why she was cut off?"

"I don't know the details," Ella said. "But I heard she damaged something very important to Mr. Andres. He was furious."

Maeve glanced toward the living room. Sure enough, she didn't see the Puzzle Sphere anywhere.

She gave a small, knowing smile. "So that's what it was."

A gift from an ex could really leave a long shadow.

Good thing she didn't expect much from Andres emotionally.

Otherwise, watching him treasure some former girlfriend's keepsake, and fire a maid over it—would've driven her insane.
