Maeve smiled. "I take very good care of my body. So good that no one is getting even a single strand of hair from me."
"Miss Turner, I came for one more reason. I want your consent."
She played a video on her phone—no sound, only the images.
In less than three seconds, Jenny crumpled.
Maeve immediately pulled the phone back. "I know this is retraumatizing. That's why I'm asking you."
"If you don't want it released, I'll delete it right now. And I promise it won't be exposed anywhere—"
Jenny forced herself upright, eyes burning. "No. I want everyone to see. I want them to know what those animals really look like."
Before leaving, Maeve put seven pills on the bedside table, along with a bank card loaded with five hundred thousand—enough for Jenny to finish treatment.
When Maeve stepped out, Andres came to meet her. "All done?"
Maeve nodded. "I'm hungry. Let's eat first. I need to stock up on energy—I've got a big night ahead."
Andres slipped an arm around her waist, smiling. "Alright."
With several bodyguards surrounding them, Andres and Maeve walked away together.
After lunch, Maeve registered a brand-new Twitter account. The username was simply: Maeve.
Then she posted a single tweet:
"8 p.m. tonight. Live stream. Don't be late."
She called Jasper Jett and told him to contact the head of a troll farm and spread the news everywhere—make it loud.
As the number-one trending villain, Maeve had never been more "famous."
Negative fame, but fame all the same.
On the phone, Jasper asked, "You're about to do something big?"
Maeve and Isla might not have been the same generation in the family, but that didn't stop them from tearing at each other online for their own interests.
After Isla and her son's sob story and smear campaign, Maeve had become the public's designated villain.
But then Maeve's face appeared on screen—perfectly lit, breathtakingly composed—and the scrolling comments slowed.
No one had expected the "fat, ugly hag" they'd imagined to look like this.
Sally: "That's like… maximum beauty filter. This face doesn't look real."
Egg Supplier: "I've streamed for years. That's raw camera. No filter, no smoothing."
Fish Stew: "Korean surgery is getting insane. Best job I've ever seen."
Beauty Salon Owner: "I'm a plastic surgeon. I can tell you right now—there's no sign of work."
A new argument ignited—this time centered on Maeve's looks.
