Divorce Failed! My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 356

Maeve said, "The moment she went after Lucifer on purpose in the main house living room, I knew she'd try something like this next."

Andres looked like he finally caught the meaning between the lines.

"You're saying Natalia went after Lucifer because Anya Morales put her up to it?"

He remembered it clearly—Anya's first visit to Azure Bay, and how Lucifer had scared the life out of her.

Natalia had two reasons for pulling this stunt.

First: she'd been ordered to "teach Lucifer a lesson."

Second: she could use Lucifer "attacking" her as leverage to trip Maeve up later.

No wonder Maeve had called Natalia the type who played dumb to make everyone underestimate her.

The woman really did know how to work an angle.

It was just that she'd picked the wrong opponent—and Maeve had shut her down in seconds.

Thinking about how close Lucifer had come to getting hurt tonight, anger rolled up in Andres's chest.

"No one hurts Lucifer right under my nose."

Maeve arched a brow. "So what are you going to do about it?"

"Natalia needs to learn a lesson."

Maeve smiled. "Give me thirty minutes. I'll get revenge for you—no, for Lucifer."

Andres shook his head. "Someone like her isn't worth getting your hands dirty."

"She's only going to suffer the consequences of her own choices." Maeve tipped her chin toward a few plain, forgettable little bottles sitting on the vanity. "Also…"

"Tell your people to stand down for now. Don't go poking Natalia."

"I already got samples of the medicine she mixed for Ariana."

Andres stared at the bottles, genuinely stunned.

"When did you get these?"

"When I was searching for the snake attractant. I grabbed them on my way out."

Natalia had put on a whole production tonight—Maeve wasn't about to let an opportunity like that go to waste.

When Natalia bought the attractant, she'd chosen the strongest concentration available, thinking it would make her plan "more effective."

Azure Bay wasn't in the heart of Aethelburg. It was quieter out here—water, trees, hills. The kind of place wildlife liked.

The snakes that lived tucked away in nearby dens loved it too.

With that much attractant in the air, they poured out and followed the trail straight to her door.

Natalia screamed until her throat went raw.

And when she scrambled to find her cloud balm and sulfur powder, she discovered both bottles were gone.

It never even occurred to her that Maeve would lay a trap on the way out.

So Natalia's side of the estate erupted into chaos again.

This time, Andres and Maeve didn't show their faces.

The only ones who suffered were Azure Bay's security team—stuck catching snakes for Natalia.

Thankfully, they were nonvenomous. The small ones were released back into the wild; the bigger ones were kept and cooked into a hearty stew.
