Maeve wasn't about to let him hide.
"Get out!"
He shook his head frantically, pointing all around.
"There are cameras everywhere!"
The words barely left his mouth before she literally kicked him out of the passenger door.
He tumbled out, hitting the dirt in a pathetic sprawl.
Just as he was about to curse her, he noticed a strange pen-like device had materialized in her hand.
With a flick of her wrist, several silver needles shot out into the air.
One by one, every security camera dotting the compound's perimeter shattered into a million pieces.
A cold sweat broke out over Jaroen's body.
That must have been exactly how she murdered his poor scorpion.
As the last camera died, the main gates burst open, and over a dozen heavily muscled guards stormed out.
"Who the hell is out there?"
They had obviously seen the intruders on the monitors right before the feed cut to black.
Jaroen was just a guy who messed around with Dark Curses.
In a real firefight, his only move was to surrender.
With so many men rushing them, no matter how skilled Maeve was, they were definitely going to die.
Ignoring their shouts, Maeve calmly pulled a sleek, razor-sharp combat knife from the trunk.
The blade slid from its sheath with a menacing, metallic hiss.
The steel caught the sunlight, glinting with a deadly brilliance.
Flashing a predatory smile, she spoke with chilling composure.
"I'm here to settle the score with you pieces of trash."
If this was where Charlie Wilson lost his life, then every man standing in front of her had his blood on their hands.
She was going to count them one by one, and not a single one was leaving alive.
While Jaroen was desperately looking for a way to ditch her and run, the unthinkable happened.
