Divorce Failed! My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 952

Griffin shook his head. "You're married now, yet your temper is as explosive as ever."

He shot a reprimanding look at Andres.

"You need to put your foot down when the situation calls for it."

Andres remained silent.

He loved spoiling his wife too much to ever dream of dominating her like that.

Besides, it wasn't that he didn't want to challenge her—he simply didn't have the strength to win that fight.

Hugh, always the tactful politician, knew better than to intrude on a family reunion and excused himself.

Once he was gone, Maeve dropped all restraint and voiced the question burning in her chest.

"Why did you stop me from killing Nancy?"

Griffin tapped her lightly on the head.

"We live in a civilized world. Stop talking about murder so casually, especially when you're carrying children."

At the mention of the baby, Andres leaned in. "Master, did you already know Maeve was pregnant back at Azure Bay?"

Griffin didn't deny it.

"I knew."

Andres found the man more incomprehensible by the minute.

"Then why didn't you tell me?"

Griffin gave him a deadpan answer. "I forgot."

Andres was speechless.

That was such a terrible excuse he would have been better off saying nothing.

Noticing Maeve's hostile glare, Griffin raised a brow. "Why do you look so miserable?"

Maeve let out a bitter, mocking laugh.

"What exactly is there to be happy about?"

Griffin gestured toward her stomach with his chin.

"You're pregnant with twins. The arrival of these two children will alter the course of your destiny."

Maeve didn't find the pregnancy particularly joyful.

But alongside that respect, he couldn't help but question the underlying agenda.

Griffin's answer was brutally honest.

"You were too weak back then. Too weak to protect my daughter."

Andres frowned.

"When you took me on as your apprentice, Charlie was still alive."

The implication was clear: with Charlie already guarding Maeve, Andres should have been unnecessary.

Griffin's next words shattered both of their realities.

"If Charlie hadn't died, how would you have ever gotten the chance to be with her?"

Maeve felt she was going out of her mind.

"Dad, how can you say something so horrific? Was Charlie just born to be a sacrifice?"

Griffin nodded as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

"Yes. That was his entire mission. He was the sacrifice meant to ensure your marriage, your children, and your shared future."
