Draven was curious about what happened between her and Troy. Of course he was-Troy was his brother and someone he couldn’t stand.

Now that the divorce was final, Ayla felt she needed to explain.

Ayla didn’t like opening up to people. Her divorce was personal, and Draven was only her boss. They weren’t even close.

But she still told him. Maybe she was also telling herself, reminding herself again and again to never repeat the same mistake twice.

Ayla mocked, “Troy never thought he did anything wrong. Good for him. At least it helps me know I won’t have any regrets after the divorce. I won’t look back.”

What she hated most was when a man pretended to be heartbroken after a breakup, acting like he still cared, as if a fake show of love could cover all the hurt he caused.

Too many women fall for that act. They forgive, again and again. And as long as the guy pretends well enough, he gets to keep control.

But the world isn’t that generous. Hurt is still hurt.

The person who was hurt has the right to never forgive, no matter how the other begs. If you don’t forgive, then you don’t.

So in Ayla’s eyes, the only good thing Troy ever did was that he never loved her.

Because of that, he didn’t cling to her. Troy didn’t pretend to care. He let her get the divorce certificate without causing a scene.

She didn’t have to face another fake, gentle speech from him. She didn’t have to feel disgusted again. She didn’t have to let him deepen the damage their marriage had already caused.

And honestly, Ayla was a person who felt deeply. If Troy ever pretended to be loving while tricking her again, she had no idea how she would react.

It was ironic. Troy never loved her, but that became the only “good” thing she could remember about him.

Other than that, there was nothing warm between them.

The divorce was always going to happen.

If there was one moment worth remembering, it was the time he saved her life.

Nothing else.

When Ayla finished telling the story, she looked up and met Draven’s eyes.

He had been watching her the whole time.

Draven’s gaze was always sharp and steady, but when he focused on someone, it felt even heavier, almost overwhelming.

Ayla couldn’t handle that kind of attention. She looked away and frowned a little. There was something she needed to ask him. “Mr. Storm about Martin…

Draven understood her worry. “If you don’t want to tell him, then don’t.”

“Really?” Ayla asked.

Then she saw him give a cold smile. “A marriage and a divorce are not your burden alone. Troy is responsible too. If someone needs to face Grandpa’s questions, that’s on him, not you.”

He said exactly what she had been thinking.

Ayla wasn’t afraid to face the old man. Last time she went to Martin, it was to push Troy to agree to the divorce. But since Troy had cooperated, she didn’t need to complain again. The only thing left was informing him about the divorce.

And that was something both husband and wife should handle.

Ayla thought about this and called Troy.

He picked up almost instantly.

Troy had never answered her calls this fast before.

Ayla said, “You can explain the divorce to your grandpa.”

Troy had thought she called to check if he was hurt. When he realized she didn’t care, anger rushed up inside him. “I don’t need you to tell me that. I’ve been wanting to tell Grandpa I’m getting a divorce.”

Ayla let out a cold laugh. “Good. Then I won’t worry.”

She hung up and blocked his number right away.

Then she snapped a picture of her divorce certificate and posted it on Instagram.

Not many people knew she and Troy had been secretly married, so she made the post visible only to the few who did know.

After that, Ayla got ready to step out of the car.

But the Bentley suddenly moved.

She asked, “Mr. Storm, where are you going? I can drive.”

It was Monday. Even though she had taken the day off, she still had to act like a proper secretary when her boss was right beside her.

“My hand needs medicine. You’re coming with me,” Draven said, giving her no room to argue.
