How could Ayla have once love Troy so much, and then suddenly not love him anymore?
Bria was eight years younger than Troy, just a kid in his eyes. He would never talk about feelings with her. He forced down the frustration in his chest and asked, "What are you doing here?"
Bria snapped back. "You weren't picking up my calls, so I came over. It's nothing serious. I just want you to check Ayla's connection to Sol."
Troy frowned. "Sol?"
She looked annoyed. "You seriously don't know that I'm obsessed with Sol? She was a huge deal a few years ago—a racing legend. Even Skyla got into racing because of her!"
Troy knew Bria collected luxury cars and loved racing, but what surprised him was something else. "Ayla has something to do with Sol?"
"Yes!" Bria's anger flared again as she recalled Ayla showing off that night in the suburbs. "Ayla doesn't just know Sol. She copies her driving style and even has private photos of my idol. I just want to see if she's secretly in touch with Sol!"
The thought that Ayla might have privately talked to her idol made Bria jealous.
Ayla had promised Bria a meeting with Sol if she behaved.
That temptation was huge, yet Bria hated being controlled by someone she looked down on, so she decided to investigate herself.
But she found nothing.
So now, she came to Troy.
Bria whined, "Troy, can you help me?"
Troy wasn't into Sol like Bria, but Ayla's connection with Sol caught his attention. His voice dropped. "Fine. I'll look into it."
"Troy, you're the best!"
Bria began rubbing ointment on Troy's wounds.
Troy glanced at his wrists. If Ayla knew a top racer, that would explain her driving skills. Suddenly, he realized he barely knew her at all.
He still felt messy inside, but Bria's news calmed him slightly.
He wanted to understand Ayla and get her to listen again.
The twisted belt on the floor caught his eye. His face hardened. Curiosity gnawed at him.
Draven had never been normal. Could he even love anyone?
He had been single for years. How could he be sure he really liked Ayla?
Maybe he didn't.
Maybe it was just about competing with Troy.
Ayla schemed to divorce him. She was smart. But did that suddenly make Troy the bad guy and Draven the good one?
She would never be dumb enough to immediately date Draven after a divorce.

Why is half of each of these chapters missing? The story sort of trails off in the middle of the chapter. That’s unfortunate....
