Chapter 306 Help Me Up
Draven looked at her. “I’m going to wash up first.”
Ayla answered softly, sounding indifferent.

Warm water poured down from the shower. Draven braced one hand against the wall and let the water run over his body.
Since living with Ayla, Draven realized he had become grèedier.
But he could also clearly feel how polite and careful Ayla was with him.
Ayla was not like Halle.
Halle didn’t seem to treat feelings as something serious. Being close to James didn’t bother her. On the surface, they looked very intimate, but in her heart, Halle might have already drawn a clear line.
Ayla was different. No matter what she did, she took it seriously. Of course, that included feelings.
If she didn’t like someone, she would never be as close as Halle was with James. Instead, Ayla always kept a faint distance from everyone. She was clear-headed, restrained, proper, and had strong principles.
Draven believed that if he acted shamelessly like James, Ayla would make him move out right away.
Ayla had her own thoughts. Even if it was a fake relationship, she would not compromise and move into his place. That was a lesson she learned after her divorce.
She had her own home. She had work to do. She had friends and family. After Troy, what she lacked the least was love.
All Draven could do now was stay by her side.
He could live with her and be her “fake boyfriend” for two years. To him, that was already very good.
Ayla was serious and kept her promises. Two years was enough.
Draven kept reminding himself not to rush.
After showering, his hair was still damp. He walked out wearing only a black robe.
Ayla still felt tired after resting for a while. When she heard movement, she opened her eyes again.
Draven had finished showering. The black robe was clearly high quality. The black-and-gold belt was tied at his waist, showing his lean and strong waistline. His broad shoulders and firm chest filled out the robe perfectly.
It was the first time Ayla had seen Draven in sleepwear. He looked cool and elegant.
She glanced at his narrow waist a few more times before quietly looking away.

Chapter 306 Help Me Up
“I’m going to wash up too,” she said. She felt the smell of alcohol on herself and didn’t like it.
Draven asked, “Can you walk?”

“I’m better than before,” Ayla said. She stood up, swayed twice, then steadied herself and walked to the bathroom.
After washing up, she got dressed. But when she walked out, she slipped. Ayla suddenly felt dizzy and numb all over. She couldn’t get up.
She tried several times, but it didn’t work. She was sleepy, tired, and her head felt fuzzy. She worried that if she lay on the floor all night, she would get sick.
Luckily, her phone was nearby. Ayla sent Draven a voice message.
“I fell. Can you come help me up?”
Very soon, she heard the bedroom door open. Then came footsteps. When Ayla looked up, she saw Draven’s matching couple of slippers.
Someone lifted her under the arms. Like a potted plant, she was easily picked up and carried to her bed.
Ayla was about 5’8″ tall and weighed around 110 pounds. She wasn’t too thin or too heavy, and she looked healthy. Yet in his arms, she felt almost weightless.
“Where are you hurt?” Draven asked.
“I hit a nerve,” Ayla said. Learning her lesson again, she half-closed her eyes. “I’ll drink less in the future.”
Draven glanced at her. “Are you sober now?”
Ayla was getting sleepier. Her eyelids were heavy, and her hair was still wet.
She didn’t answer. Draven went to look for a hair dryer.
“Where’s your hair dryer?”
“In the cabinet over there.”
When he opened the cabinet under the sink, he froze. Inside were the building blocks he had personally put together for her before.
Why would she keep them here?
Draven looked for two seconds. Then he found the dryer, plugged it in, and went to dry her hair.
He had Ayla lie sideways on the bed, with her head slightly over the edge. Her shoulder-length hair hung down in the air. His long fingers brushed through her thick black hair as he set the dryer to low heat and carefully dried it.
Ayla felt like she was about to fall asleep. Her thoughts were messy, and she started mumbling.

Why is half of each of these chapters missing? The story sort of trails off in the middle of the chapter. That’s unfortunate....
