Chapter 317 Will You Help Me?

Melody said coldly, “Fine. Let’s see how long you can keep acting so proud.”

She snatched up her purse and went to sit somewhere else.

Ayla calmly looked away, slid her laptop into her bag, and checked the time. Draven should be coming out in two or three minutes.

She texted him, “I’m at the airport to pick you up.”

There was no reply-he probably hadn’t seen it yet.

Herman and Draven got off the plane and headed straight toward the VIP exit.

Herman saw the message on his phone. “Melody is here.”

Draven didn’t respond.

“I didn’t tell her to come. She showed up on her own. I’ll deal with her later. You go first. I won’t let her bother you.”

Herman had warned Melody countless times to give up on Draven. She always agreed out loud, then went right back to doing the opposite. She always found a way to get closer. It gave him a headache.

Honestly, Herman had been having headaches all week.

Before coming back, Draven had even flown to Italoria just to buy an outrageously expensive stone sculpture.

Maybe he really liked art, but wasn’t it exhausting to go through all that trouble?

Herman thought it would be a fun trip and tagged along, only to regret it when they flew straight back right after buying the piece.

Draven, meanwhile, clenched his hand.

For a whole week, Ayla hadn’t sent him a single message.

Did she feel better being alone? Did she regret letting him move in?

If he hadn’t heard her call Troy’s name while she was drunk, he would have contacted her long ago. But he still hadn’t processed it—he just couldn’t yet.

Draven pressed his lips together.

At least he was finally heading home.

Once he saw Ayla, maybe he would stop overthinking everything.

Draven kept walking. Herman said nothing more and followed behind. After clearing the checkpoint, they walked side by side.

Not long after, Melody blocked their way.

“Herman, you’re finally here! I’ve been waiting forever.” She hurried over to her brother, then couldn’t stop herself from looking at the man she was completely obsessed with. Her heart started racing. She couldn’t

control how much she liked him.

Melody was two years younger than Herman, but about the same age as Draven, just a few months apart.

She always felt much less mature than her actual age. Draven, someone her age, already ran a trillion- dollar company. He was tall, calm, powerful, and distant.

She was just an artist who loved painting, romantic and naive.

In front of Draven, she felt like a grade-schooler. Feeling no pressure at all, she smiled. “It’s been a while, Draven.”

He paused and glanced at her coolly. Since she was his friend’s sister, he couldn’t be completely dismissive. “Yeah.”

That single word was enough to make Melody happy. She quickly said, “I’m in Trensea for my art show. I’ve been super busy. Let’s have dinner together later.”

Before Draven could refuse, Herman cut in. “Don’t mess around. We’re both busy. No time for dinner.”

Melody wasn’t pleased, but when Herman shot her a serious look, she swallowed her words.

Inside, she was furious. Every chance she got near Draven, her brother ruined it and pushed her away.

That was seriously annoying.

Thinking of Ayla, Melody suddenly said, “I’m being bullied. Will you help me?”

Herman glanced at her, confused about who would even bully her, but still asked, “Who?”

She sneered. “Come with me. Turn the corner ahead. She’s sitting in the café!”

Ayla had no one backing her up, but Melody did.

All Draven wanted after landing was to get home as fast as possible. It was the weekend, so Ayla should be there. If he went back now, he might see her. He’d forced himself not to contact her for a whole week. Now, he couldn’t wait anymore.
