Divorce me I'm done serving you (Ayla) novel Chapter 409

Because it felt so much like a dream, Draven deliberately rubbed the back of his hand, the one that had just been treated, hard against the couch, even harder than when he'd fought Troy. When the sharp, unmistakable pain hit, the unease in his chest finally eased.

This wasn't a dream.

This was the most beautiful moment of his life.

Draven suddenly relaxed and wanted nothing more than to savor the present.

But he didn't forget to comfort Ayla. He steadied her knee, then gently rested his hand against her back.

After crying it all out, Ayla still felt wronged and sad, but happiness outweighed everything else.

Her heart felt like it was soaring.

Her mood was no worse than the moment she'd received her divorce papers.

Once she had her emotions settled, embarrassment crept in. Like Kaleb, she hated showing her vulnerable side. She'd only been swept up because of the certainty in Draven's eyes, and her emotions had spiraled out of control.

She regretted it a little, but letting it out had felt really good.

But after that release, what then?

Embarrassment was the easy part. What worried her more was how she was supposed to interact with Draven now.

Because this man was her boyfriend now...

Boyfriend meant no need to be polite, no need to keep boundaries. They could hug and kiss, do all sorts of intimate things ordinary friends couldn't. It was a completely new kind of closeness.

Just thinking about it made Ayla's heart burn hot.

They were no longer boss and secretary, not even ordinary friends. Their relationship had truly changed.

Along with excitement and thrill, Ayla also felt awkward.

After all, before the confession, they'd only been friends.

Not anymore.

She even thought the whole thing felt unreal.

"Ayla." His voice rang out in her ear. "Are you feeling better?"

Ayla jumped, grabbing onto Draven's expensive fabric. Her reaction was so obvious that Draven definitely noticed, which only doubled the awkwardness. She buried her face into the hollow of his neck and played dead, refusing to move.

A short laugh followed.

Ayla had just witnessed the usually untouchable CEO get jealous, had seen his expression when she confessed. Because it was so different from his usual self, she liked it a lot. She just wanted to see this other side of him and keep it tucked away in her heart.

So what expression did Draven have right now?

If it wasn't any different, Ayla wasn't letting him off the hook.

She clenched her teeth and forced herself to lift her head from his shoulder.
