Draven had used so much patience to pursue her. This kind of situation required even more patience.
Draven wanted everything with Ayla to be harmonious in every way. He wanted to give her the best experience. Both her body and her heart needed to be ready.
And when they kissed, Ayla was very responsive and clearly enjoying it. She obviously had a big misunderstanding about him. Maybe she thought he wasn’t very capable in that area, or that he had no desire at all and never thought about those things, which was why she didn’t dodge and instead openly explored intimacy beyond friendship with him, as if she wasn’t afraid he’d lose control at all… This was a huge misunderstanding, one he’d have to slowly clear for her.
Holding back was really hard for him.
Draven pushed himself up. “Before I show you, I’m charging a little fee.”
He kissed her lips. “Interest.”
He kissed her again before finally getting off her.
Ayla immediately covered her face and followed him up. Her face was burning hot, no doubt completely red. “You’re way too smooth.”
He was driving her crazy.
Was this really a man who had never been in a relationship before? She seriously doubted it.
Draven cupped her cheek with his palm. “Because I’ve been thinking about it for a long time.”
With her face being held, Ayla wanted to touch his hand. Then she remembered the wound on the back of his hand and pulled it closer to look.
The wound was still there, but it wasn’t wrapped the way she had done it earlier.
With an injury on his hand, showering and washing his hair were more inconvenient. Water would definitely get on the wound.
“You rewrapped it yourself?”
Draven said, “Yeah. Didn’t want you worrying.”
Ayla looked at him. “Does it still hurt?”
The corner of Draven’s mouth lifted slightly. “You’re worried about me?”
“Yeah.”
Ayla didn’t dare touch the wound. She turned his hand over and looked at his palm instead.
She placed her own hand against it and gently rubbed her palm over his.
A small gesture like this was enough to bring a huge sense of intimacy to a couple who’d just gotten together. When Ayla pulled away, she even felt a little reluctant.
Draven’s Adam’s apple rolled, his gaze darkening.
He stared at Ayla for a few seconds before going to change into his pajamas.
Ayla had already paid interest, and now she was ready to “inspect the goods” in good conscience.
But she suddenly got nervous, her heart racing.
Draven was a cold, distant man. Dressed in black, paired with his icy aura, he even carried an untouchable holiness.
Draven, of course, didn’t miss any chance to get close to her. He wrapped an arm around her waist, pulled her into his arms, held her tightly, and rested his face against her stomach.
Luckily, Ayla was standing. Otherwise, Draven would’ve seen how red her face was.
Is he touch-starved or what? Why does he want to be touching me all the time?
But Ayla liked it too.
Before long, his hair was completely dry.
“All done.”
Draven still didn’t let go, and Ayla wasn’t in a hurry either. She set the hair dryer aside and ran her fingers through his thick hair. The strands slipped through her fingers smoothly. It felt really good. She played with it for a bit before Draven finally released her.
Ayla stood there, looking down into his eyes.
Neither of them spoke. They just held each other’s gaze for several seconds.
Draven lifted a hand and pulled her back into his arms, his palm pressing against her lower back. “The night Kayla kept us overnight, you touched my hair too.”
Ayla said, “It’s fluffy. Very cute.”
Draven tried hard to ignore that “cute” was probably describing him. “Do you know what I was thinking back then?”
Ayla blinked, genuinely curious. She wanted to know what was going on in Draven’s head. That was probably instinct when you had feelings for someone.

Why is half of each of these chapters missing? The story sort of trails off in the middle of the chapter. That’s unfortunate....
