Divorce me I'm done serving you (Ayla) novel Chapter 44

Chapter 44 Project A

Halle said, “I looked through the material he sent. LugiX did solve a similar problem before, but there’s a three-year gap. The details are different, and you know how technology works. A tiny difference can become a massive obstacle. My team can’t handle it. But I think you can

try.

“Of course, the reason Norris is so generous is because of the Winston Group investment, which means your ex-husband. I have to make that clear to you. If that bothers you, then forget it.”

Halle’s tone shifted. “But no one hates making money, right?”

Ayla said, “Of course. I’m not that dramatic. We agreed to get rich together.”

“I knew it. Actually, the ten-million contract is right in front of me. I can sign it for you any time. We will sign under the company so the accounting and taxes go through properly.”

Ayla said, “Don’t rush. I need to look through the material. I will answer you only if I’m confident.”

“Don’t worry. I already rejected Norris. If you think it is doable, I’ll tell him the situation has changed. They’ve been stuck for two months. They won’t break through in the next few days.”

Halle asked, “So give me a rough timeline.”

“I’ll check it tonight after work and give you an answer on Friday.”

“I love your efficiency.” On the other end, Halle smacked a loud kiss through the phone.

“Divorce is amazing. Ayla, you’ve already started shining in your own field. Once you publish that paper and your value shoots up, you can choose to start a business with me, or join a big tech company and take a multimillion-dollar salary. And if you want to start a company alone, investors will fight to fund you.”

Ayla did not have big plans for the future.

Her focus stayed on what was right in front of her, on finishing her research.

Plans often could not keep up with change. She had never expected to fall for Troy, and had never expected to let him go one day.

No one could predict the future.

In Norris’s laboratory, many projects were running simultaneously.

Among them, the most important one, “Project”, was split into two groups.

Both groups were summoned.

Norris announced, “The leader of Group One has been on leave due to health issues. The position is now vacant. Today, I’m announcing that Skyla will take over as Group One leader.”

The members of Group One instantly erupted with displeasure. “Skyla has been here for only one week. She hasn’t completed a single independent project. Many of us have far more experience. Why promote her?”

Everyone in that room was a top expert.

Brilliant minds tended to have sharp pride and blunt tongues.

Norris was about to explain, but Skyla stepped forward herself.

“Because I can solve the problem the team is facing.”

As long as she met Halle, she was confident she could persuade her.

The so-called “difficulty” meant nothing.

Skyla had informed Norris in advance, though she hid the fact that she intended to contact Halle.

A member sneered, “If you can solve it, why haven’t you shown a plan? Stop making empty claims.”

Skyla barely acknowledged the doubt. “A key technical block has stalled the team for two months. I understand the frustration and anxiety, but there’s no need to assume that others will fail too, is there?”

She turned to Norris. “Within one month, I will lead the team to a breakthrough.”

Norris admired Skyla’s calmness. When the short meeting ended, he called her to his office.

“Skyla, I reached out to Halle Kinsman from ZeirTech and asked for help.”

Skyla’s eyes narrowed in surprise.

Why did Norris act first?

Her secret weapon for solving the problem was Halle.
