From now on, Ayla was going to be the middle link between her and Sol. Even though Ayla’s attitude made her furious, Bria was very clear about what she wanted.

All she cared about was getting closer to Sol.

So keeping things decent with Ayla, who was a useful bridge, was a must.

As for those drinks?

It was just a tiny, harmless setup.

Outside the company, Bria walked out and grabbed Renee’s hand, shaking it hard. “What am I supposed to do? If Kaleb won’t even show up at my birthday, how am I supposed to make him listen to me later and do what I say?”

Renee said, “Bria, you’ve seen Ayla’s personality. Kaleb is her brother. He’s probably the same. He won’t be easy to control.”

Bria snapped back, “You’re useless. The tougher he is, the better it feels when I win. I haven’t had something this fun in forever. I’m right in the mood. Don’t ruin my vibe. Got it? Or you can get

lost.”

Renee nodded. “Got it.”

“It’s just a small roadblock.” Bria’s expression darkened. “Nice moves didn’t work, so I’ll switch tactics. But I promised Ayla I wouldn’t openly mess with Kaleb anymore. Looks like I’ll have to figure him out first.”

Her right arm was still wrapped in bandages. People said you never really knew someone without clashing first. Bria hadn’t expected Kaleb to be this interesting.

Once Bria set her sights on someone, she never failed to succeed.

This time was just more difficult than usual. And it wasn’t like she had anything else to do. When something caught her interest, how could she give up that easily?

Just wait, Kaleb.

I’ll make you obey me one day!

Just imagining it made Bria smile.

The next day was Bria’s 21st birthday.

At the same age, Ayla had already lost her mother, married Troy, and been through all kinds of ups and downs.

Bria’s 21st birthday felt no different from her 15th or 16th. She still called her friends, carefree, doing whatever she wanted.

Martin had a rule. Once she was an adult, birthdays weren’t necessary anymore.

So after turning 18, Bria stopped celebrating with family and spent her birthdays with friends instead. On her birthday, she’d still call her parents, her brother, and her grandfather. Acting spoiled came naturally to her.

Since Troy was busy, she called him last.

“I want an unreleased concept car for my birthday!” Bria loved cars and knew every model out there. Concept cars had even bolder designs-some futuristic, some wildly unconventional, and many that might never be made.

Troy didn’t object.

Before hanging up, he asked, “Will Ayla be there?”

Bria laughed. “What? Can’t bear to let her go?”

He didn’t respond.

She said, “I don’t know what you’re thinking, but I’m starting to feel a little reluctant to let Ayla go myself.”

Troy asked again, “Is she going or not?”

“Ayla wants to bring someone to meet me. No idea if she’s coming.” Bria smiled. “If she shows up, I’ll call you. You can talk to her alone. Maybe she’ll change her mind?”

Troy frowned. “Stop talking nonsense!”

The call ended just like that.

Bria pouted. Her brother was seriously strange, still refusing to face reality.

She could already tell Ayla had no intention of going back. The more time she spent with Ayla,

the clearer it became.

If Troy couldn’t let her go, then he should lower his pride and chase her. Why was he still acting like before the divorce, refusing to bend?

Bria was a woman herself. She saw things more clearly.

She was also good at switching strategies.

Right now, her brother was clearly at a disadvantage. He should’ve adjusted his attitude, like flattering, pleading, and praying.

But he couldn’t do any of that. No wonder Ayla stayed firm.

Bria didn’t think about it anymore. She still had Kaleb to deal with.

A whole day passed, and he still hadn’t called her.

So Bria decided to call him herself.

Her card had her number on it. If Kaleb saw it, he might not answer.

So she borrowed someone else’s phone.

Soon, Kaleb’s cool voice came through. “Who’s this?”

“It’s Bria,” she said straight up. “Kaleb, did you get my birthday invite?”
