She whipped her head around. Ayla was smiling faintly as the streetlights flashed by. The veins on the back of her hand stood out as she held the wheel tight. Even so, her driving stayed smooth and controlled, sharp and aggressive.
“I haven’t felt this alive in a long time,” Ayla said while checking the map. “There’s a bunch of turns ahead. Hold tight.”
Bria obeyed on instinct. The car kept surging forward. The speed never dipped as they tore through the first bend. Her soul felt like it had already left her body, and more curves were coming?
That was terrifying!
Bria wanted out. She regretted it. She never should’ve gotten into Sol’s car-Sol was insane. But it was too late now. Complaining wouldn’t help. All she could do was stare as the car rushed toward the next turn. Her brain completely shut down. She sank into the moment, swallowed by the sheer intensity, her whole body and mind pulled into madness.
Tears spilled out. That was the feeling she chased. And now she was finally living it, fully and completely.
It’s so, so, so damn good!
There were no words for it.
“Ah-”
She screamed wildly, excitement flooding her face. No one could understand how happy she was right now.
“Ah-”
It was just too wild and thrilling.
Bria screamed and trembled from head to toe.
After a series of curves, from uphill to downhill, Ayla drove back to the starting point. The car stopped.
Renee and Halle were already waiting there. Halle had arrived in her own sports car, so she

already knew Ayla was Sol.
Renee still hadn’t processed it. Bria even less so.
The car went quiet.
Ayla didn’t get out right away.

Bria’s head was still replaying everything. The rush had been unreal-tight nerves, fear, danger. Her adrenaline was off the charts. It felt unbelievably good.
It took Bria a long time to calm down before she dared to face Ayla.
Right now, Bria just wanted to run. She felt awkward and ashamed, completely unable to face her. Thinking about how she’d treated Ayla before made her scalp tingle. She wished she could dig a hole and disappear.
She had never felt guilt this strong before. It was overwhelming.
So even turning her head to look at Ayla took all her courage.
Ayla glanced over. Bria’s first reaction was to look away. She couldn’t handle the guilt in her chest. After a few seconds, she forced herself to look again.
Their eyes met.
Bria wanted to die.
She really, really wanted to die.
“Ayla… how could you be Sol?”
Her voice came out rough. It carried shock, excitement, and even a hint of grievance. Her feelings were tangled beyond sorting out. Her mind was filled with nothing but “Oh my God.” Finding out Ayla was her idol was way too unexpected. If she could, she’d brainwash herself into believing it wasn’t true. But Ayla had just driven her as only Sol could.
Bria had never respected that sister-in-law who snapped when she was in a bad mood and seemed eager to divorce Troy. And now that woman was the “Sol” she’d been searching for
years.
Oh my God.
How could this be?

Bria felt like she was losing her mind.
Whether it was the street racing or Sol’s real identity, everything felt unreal.
Nothing fit better than insane.

Why is half of each of these chapters missing? The story sort of trails off in the middle of the chapter. That’s unfortunate....
