“Sweetie, last time I saw you, you already looked amazing. And now you’re dating such a handsome guy. That divorce was the best thing that ever happened to you. I’m so happy for you,” Winnie said, hugging Ayla tightly.

Ayla could feel Winnie ample chest pressing against her. She thought absently how soft she felt.

No wonder men liked curves. She did too.

Then Winnie leaned close and whispered in her ear, “Mr. Shawn is lying.”

Ayla froze for a second. Then it clicked, and she was honestly surprised.

Was Draven really that jealous?

She and Noah had absolutely nothing going on.

Right now, she and Draven were closer than ever. He should not be questioned about her feelings for him.

Yet he was still being careful?

Maybe that was just how possessive men can be.

Still, Ayla had never felt that kind of scary control from Draven. He always respected her. She could do whatever she wanted. In their relationship, she had always felt free.

And honestly, a little possessiveness wasn’t all bad. It could mean someone cared. As long as it didn’t go too far.

Winnie kissed Ayla on the cheek. Their warm, clingy greeting finally ended. She grabbed Ayla’s hands. “I’m sorry, Ayla. Back then, I listened to Mr. Shawn and went into Mr. Draven’s room, and you walked in on it. Please don’t be mad.”

Ayla remembered. That was the first time she had gone on a business trip with Draven to Aqualith.

Winnie must have seen her with Draven back then. That was why she was apologizing.

“That was so long ago. Don’t worry about it.” Ayla wasn’t petty. Besides, the two of them had nothing going on back then. Even if something ad happened, there was nothing to judge.

“Ayla, you’re such a good person.”

Shawn and Draven were talking nearby. Ayla pulled Winnie toward a couch and sat down with her. “Did something happen?”

Winnie raised her eyebrows, surprised. “You’re really sharp.”

Having someone notice her mood and care enough to ask… it was touching.

“You used to comfort me too,” Ayla said gently. That was just what friends did.

“It’s not a big deal,” Winnie said, glancing back at Shawn. “Just a little hard to let go.”

Ayla understood right away. “Is it about Shawn?”

Winnie nodded.

“What exactly is your relationship?” Ayla had never asked before.

They didn’t seem like a couple, more like companions. Or maybe employer and employee.

Otherwise, Shawn wouldn’t have asked Winnie to keep Draven company like a cheerful

mascot.

From the way Winnie and Shawn touched each other, Ayla knew they had been intimate. But he had never introduced Winnie as a girlfriend.

Still, Shawn brought Winnie to a private party with close friends. That meant she was important to him.

Winnie smiled. “We slept together.”

Ayla simply stared at her.

Like she didn’t already know.

The next second, Winnie burst out laughing. “I kidding. Everyone knows we’re involved. But if I explain it properly, I’m basically a custom-made doll for Mr. Shawn. I listen to everything he says. Everything I do is to make him happy.”

Seeing the confusion in Ayla’s eyes, Winnie explained more. “He’s rich, powerful, and very handsome. Being with him gives me a lot. Money, Connections. Opportunities. I’ve seen the world. I’ve learned so much. I also get access to fashion resources. My modeling income is enough to let me live comfortably for the rest of my life. So, being his doll isn’t that bad. That’s why I have to keep him happy”

Ayla raised her eyebrow slightly.
