Chapter 601 Welcome Gift
Ayla continued, “If you want to keep making me laugh, then go ahead and keep cursing. All it does is remind me I once had the guy you’ll never touch. Want me to keep feeling smug around you? Then don’t stop. Every time I picture you losing it like a rabid dog because of me, my bad mood will disappear.”
Melody’s eyes flew open, burning red with anger
Ayla completely followed through on ignoring her. Her look was cool and flat, like Melody didn’t exist. Then she grabbed Halle-who had been ready to jump in for her-and walked away as if nothing had happened.
Being brushed off like that was humiliating.
Especially for Melody. She’d been holding that resentment for months. She rushed over, sure she’d get to see Ayla suffer. Instead, it felt like swinging at air and embarrassing herself.
It was beyond humiliating. Being openly shamed by someone she looked down on pushed Melody to the brink. She lunged forward, about to go after Ayla.
At that moment, a bodyguard stepped in and blocked her.
“Get out of my way!”
The bodyguard was expressionless, like a robot carrying out orders. He covered her mouth and dragged her toward the warehouse.
Fabiola froze. She could tell he wasn’t a normal event guard. Her people were all outside. She never expected something could happen inside the venue.
After hesitating for a moment, she followed.
Could Ayla be behind it?
It was already shocking enough that Ayla had managed to date Draven. That sister she’d never met was turning out far more interesting than expected. Fabiola couldn’t help being curious.
Meanwhile, Melody realized the bodyguard wasn’t just stopping her from causing trouble. He was targeting her.
Fear crept in. Luckily, she spotted Fabiola following from the corner of her eye. Fabiola would help.
People in the hall started staring, watching the scene unfold.
All of that humiliation was because of Ayla.
That bitch!
Since expensive artwork was stored inside, the exhibition warehouse was huge and strictly off-limits. Once Melody was dragged in, the door slammed shut.
Fabiola was blocked outside.
That was when Melody truly panicked.
She was tossed into a corner. As she reached for her phone to call the police, it was snatched away.
A slap came out of nowhere, snapping across her face.
Pain exploded, and Melody screamed.

Why is half of each of these chapters missing? The story sort of trails off in the middle of the chapter. That’s unfortunate....
