Divorce me I'm done serving you (Ayla) novel Chapter 650

Ayla clenched her fists. She bit her lip hard, fighting with everything she had to keep the tears from falling.

Troy lowered his voice, trying to stay calm. "Can't you just look at me? Just open your eyes and look at me. Give me another chance. I'm begging you. Is that too much to ask?"

Since their divorce, Ayla had always remained calm when she faced him. Her expression stayed cold. She never smiles at him. She didn't love him anymore, and that meant she had won the war.

When he saw the pain on her face, he felt a strange satisfaction.

So she wasn't untouchable after all. She could still feel hurt.

When he saw the tears forming in her eyes, his heart softened again. He stepped forward and pulled her into his arms. "I'm sorry," he said in a low voice. "But I'm not wrong. Draven isn't as good as you think. Let's just start over and give us another chance, okay?"

He held her tightly and waited. He believed that if he explained himself long enough, she would eventually give in.

But suddenly the woman in his arms began to struggle. Ayla roughly pushed him away.

Then she took out her phone and tapped the screen.

A video started playing.

It was the video Max had sent her the day she lost the baby.

Ayla spoke calmly, but her words cut deep. "The day Skyla came back, you sent her a huge bouquet of roses. Your friends were cheering and teasing you. They told you to hug her and kiss her. They even joked about the three-minute intense kiss you once shared.

"Those friends of yours knew you were married to me, but none of them cared. The way they spoke about me shows exactly how you talked about me when I wasn't around. They didn't respect me at all. That only means you never respected me either.

"That same day, I called you from the hospital. I begged you to come and stay with me while I had surgery. You hung up. And right after that, you hugged Skyla and happily welcomed her home in public."

"I was standing right in front of you, but you never saw how anxious and scared I was. You say you care about me, but that's not how it feels. If someone truly cared, wouldn't the other person feel it? Troy, you say all the right things now, but you can't actually follow through. You just can't.

"And yet you keep pushing my wounds and forcing me to be with you. What do you expect me to do? Smile and pretend to be happy while listening to this? Give you the reaction you want so you'll feel satisfied?"

She wiped the tears from her face. "Fine. Maybe Draven doesn't love me; what does that prove? It doesn't prove you love me. They're two different things. You keep comparing yourself to Draven, but that rivalry has nothing to do with me.

"You've said so much today, but the only thing it proves is that neither you nor Draven truly loved me. The only person who ended up hurting was me. That's what happened because you forced me into this today."

"Fine. I accept it," she said. "I'll take this outcome and deal with it on my own, quietly. Is that enough for you? Are you satisfied now?" Her eyes were red, but her voice stayed calm. "You've seen it now. You've seen how badly I'm hurt. You've seen my weakest side. You've seen that I'm just someone who has never been truly loved." She looked at him. "Are you happy now?"

Her voice stayed calm the whole time, but every word felt like she was reopening her wounds.

After losing her mother, Ayla had learned to endure pain far better than most people.
