Divorce me I'm done serving you (Ayla) novel Chapter 737

Fabiola replied, "I planned to stop you earlier and keep you with me for a while, just the two of us. But I didn't expect Bria to contact you first."

Ayla couldn't understand. "Why would you want to be alone with me?"

"Isn't it obvious? I like you. I'm curious about you. I want to understand you better. So I wanted time alone to talk. That's normal."

Ayla disliked it when someone suddenly threw teasing words into a serious talk. How could Fabiola possibly like her? They had never even talked before, and their relationship was already awkward enough.

Ayla kept a straight face and warned, "Don't make me sick."

Fabiola actually laughed.

The more Ayla rejected her, the more Fabiola wanted to tease her. She wanted to see if this cold little sister would blush, panic, or get angry.

Fabiola had always been easygoing, but she felt a bit twisted right now.

And what she said wasn't completely fake either. She did like Ayla. What was so strange about that? Most likely, her little sister had been hurt too badly before, so now she stayed guarded even when someone showed kindness.

Tsk, tsk. Why is she so pitiful in every way?

Fabiola stressed it again. "That's honestly how I feel. Believe it or not, I've already said it. I'm being truthful."

She raised one eyebrow. "Ayla, tell me honestly. What do you think of me now?"

Ayla could tell Fabiola didn't care whether she believed her or not, so Fabiola didn't waste time trying to convince her. She just kept asking questions.

After a short pause, Ayla replied, "I don't like you. We're completely different. I don't want any connection with you. I don't want to waste words. I don't want to waste time on you."

Fabiola's expression froze for a moment. Then the shock faded, and she put on a hurt look as she sighed. "Wow. You really know how to wound someone."

"Do I? You're not much better yourself."

Fabiola sighed again. "Do we really have to make our first meeting this unpleasant?"

Ayla answered, "It's not just today that's unpleasant. The first time we crossed paths, you stole my client. That wasn't pleasant either, was it?"

Fabiola showed no shame at all. She laughed loudly. When she finished laughing, she gave a signal to one of the bodyguards.

The bodyguard immediately stood up and moved aside.

Fabiola, who had been sitting across from Ayla, took the bodyguard's spot and sat right next to her.

Fabiola answered, "My mom drugged your dad and got what she wanted."

Ayla went silent.

Fabiola continued, "I admit it. My mom was a bitch. She ruined your parents' marriage, and that's why your mom and dad stayed apart."

Juliana had never told Ayla any of that before.

If Juliana had known the truth from the start, then her depression four years ago had nothing to do with Phil. So what caused it?

Fabiola spoke bluntly, showing she didn't care about hiding anything.

"But your mom was kept in the dark the whole time. Your parents drifting apart wasn't only because of my mom."

Even though Ayla hadn't asked, Fabiola kept explaining. "And the reason Phil liked me more than you? Same reason."

Ayla clenched her teeth. "Why?"

Fabiola leaned in and smiled. "Phil is my father, but he's also a man. And a man's pride can be fragile. Ayla, your mother, Juliana, was a genius. She was so talented that everyone else looked small next to her. Phil loved her, but he was also jealous of her talent. That's why they kept drifting apart. Then you were born, and you were just like your mother. He couldn't get close to you. But I looked harmless and sweet, and being around me made him feel like a strong father. So slowly, he started favoring me. On top of that, you were rarely around him. Every time he saw you and Kaleb, it reminded him of how weak he felt. So naturally, he never formed deep feelings for you or Kaleb."
