Maybe Draven had grown up without ever receiving a kind of love that truly accepted him. So when he first got together with Ayla, he had been starving for it. All he wanted was to take warmth from her.
What Ayla gave him was something rare. It gave him so much, enough to fill the emptiness inside him. It helped him grow in love, and it even softened things between him and Kayla and Eric.
The reason Ayla accepted him so quickly was simple. She liked him.
From Ayla, Draven received the love he had longed for since childhood. No matter how long they were apart, that feeling never changed. Because he knew that for certain, his heart finally felt complete. He had never felt so steady before.
"Ayla, will you come back to me? On the last day of October, on our one year anniversary, will you accept me again?"
Even though he believed the chances were high, the moment the words left his mouth, Draven's breath paused. Nervousness hit him instantly. He barely dared to blink.
Tears kept falling from Ayla's eyes. But now she was not sad anymore. There was only happiness left. She cried and smiled at the same time. "I really should have listened to Fabiola and not replied so quickly!"
That meant yes.
The ice melted once more. Draven slowly exhaled, finally feeling the real happiness of getting what he wanted.
"Ayla, you really are too soft."
He gently wiped away her tears.
"I think so too." Ayla nodded. As long as she was with Draven, she had no control over her heart. So yes, she softened easily. It was natural.
Draven looked at her. "Think carefully. If you come back to me this time, then if you want to leave again... it will not be that easy."
"Aren't you the one confessing? I already said yes. Why are you telling me to think again?"
"I need to make it clear first."
"That part is not really up to me. It depends on you. If you treat me badly, I will still argue with you and talk about breaking up."
Draven understood. Ayla had already agreed. As long as he did not mess things up, she would not leave him.
Being chosen so firmly made him feel unbelievably happy.
"Ayla." Draven pulled her into his arms again.
Ayla listened to his strong heartbeat. She felt his emotions clearly. They reached her. So she said nothing else. She simply answered, "I'm here."
Draven called her again. "Ayla."
"I'm here."
"Ayla."
"Yes."
"Ayla."
"Yep."
"Ayla."
"Hm?"
Ayla looked at him. "You have to always be here too."
Draven's heart pounded hard. His gaze darkened. He lifted Ayla into his arms and carried her out.
Ayla reached back and closed the door behind them.
They moved from the third floor down to the second.
Straight into the main bedroom.
Ayla still wanted to look around, but this time Draven did not allow it. The moment the door shut, he pressed her against it and kissed her.
The kiss was intense and possessive.
He pulled off his suit jacket, then loosened his tie. His movements were hurried and rough. He threw both aside without care.
Then he started on the buttons of his shirt. While still pressing against Ayla and kissing her, he tore them open quickly.
He pulled at Ayla's clothes as well. He was in such a rush that her shirt tore apart.
At that moment, Ayla clearly felt how overwhelming the difference in their strength and size was, and how thrilling it felt too. This side of Draven, so desperate and uncontrolled, made her blood rush.
The moment he bit down on her, Ayla lost strength in his arms.
Draven held her waist and carried her to the bed in a few steps, then pressed her down beneath him. The muscles in his arms tightened with force. His back flexed, the lines along his shoulders and spine standing out sharply, almost unbearably striking.

Why is half of each of these chapters missing? The story sort of trails off in the middle of the chapter. That’s unfortunate....
