Ashton already had a plan mind to win over Eden. He couldn’t allow Zolane to fall under the control of the Heavenly Medical Pavilion. He was aware that the battle between him and the Pavilion had officially commenced.
“Got it, Queen Eden!” Lauren and Hera exchanged a cold look before leading Ashton and Tobras into the reception hall to meet Eden.
They had just stepped into the reception hall when a pleasant fragrance hit them, but it was immediately followed by a bone- chilling cold that swept through the room like a gale, causing those present to shiver in response.
“I’ve brought a miracle doctor from the Heavenly Medical Pavilion to cure you, Eden! You’ll definitely recover from the chills syndrome!” Hera sounded genuinely earnest, underscored by profound anxiety.
“I appreciate the thought, Hera,” Eden said as she slowly emerged, dressed in a knitted crew-neck sweater.
She had a flawless oval face, skin as smooth as silk, and eyes that shone like the most exquisite pearls. However, the cold emanating from her made her seem unapproachable and distant.
She walked over with a graceful stride of her long, fair legs and ordered someone to prepare refreshments. She then glanced toward Hera and the others, her gaze freezing the moment it landed on Ashton. She glanced at him again, clearly startled.
She felt a sudden heat radiating from him–a sensation she hadn’t experienced in a long time. She thought that he seemed to possess an innate magnetism that made her want to move toward him, a response born of total instinct.
In the meantime, Ashton could feel the Drakell technique within him surging wildly through his systems, while his Drakebome lineage surged like boiling volcanic magma. He knew very well that Eden was one of the chosen maidens who possessed the extreme Lunar physique.
It was as if fate itself had stepped in to bring them together.
Ashton’s eyes blazed with flames of desire as he identified Eden’s exceptionally rare Absolute Frost constitution, which shared a near-perfect affinity with his Drakeborne lineage.
He knew that if he could claim her, their repeated dual cultivations would allow him to enter the peak of the divine realm and push toward the pinnacle. He mused that this was his greatest prospect for achieving a breakthrough into the otherworldly
realm.
He could hear a manic voice in his Sea of Consciousness, pushing him to claim Eden no matter what it took.
It was then that Hera pointed at Ashton and barked, “How insolent! How dare you act disrespectfully toward Eden! Get him out
Γ of here and execute him at once!”
“You should hurry up and bow your head!” Lauren’s expression shifted drastically as she realized that Ashton had been staring directly at Eden since entering the hall, which was no different from seeking death.
Lauren hurriedly bowed her head and said, “I’d like you to meet Dr. Gray, Eden. He has achieved great renown throughout Zolane for successfully treating Mark Woster, Kate Langton, and Keith Quigley. He might be the one to finally fix your chills syndrome, so please forgive him for his lack of manners!”
Ashton kept his eyes locked on Eden, even with Lauren’s reminder. He felt a growing restlessness, as if his body were overheating from within.
He had figured out the cure for Eden’s chills syndrome, which was actually quite straightforward. He just had to sleep with her a couple of times, and the chills syndrome would eventually disappear on its own.
“What a load of rubbish! Have you seen all the ‘famous’ doctors and practitioners you’ve brought here over the last few months, Lauren? Eden’s chills syndrome didn’t improve-it got worse!
“You probably never intended to cure Eden! You just want to take her place as the new Queen of Zolane!” Hera stated bluntly.
