Ignoring the shock on Lauren’s face, he forcefully swept Eden up in his arms and carried her straight into her room. He locked the door behind them and set up a sealed barrier to prevent anyone from disturbing them.

He added, “Lauren, don’t interrupt us until tomorrow.”

She froze as she watched them disappear behind the door. The image of Ashton scooping Eden into his arms and how she nestled against him flashed through Lauren’s mind.

“He’s not seriously trying to seduce Queen Eden, right?”

For a moment, she didn’t know what to do. But from what she had just seen, Eder hadn’t shown much resistance.

“Ashton is probably treating her injuries…” She forced herself to believe it. “Better not get involved. Besides, no one can get through that barrier anyway…”

Lauren shook her head and turned to deal with the aftermath. She convinced herself that if Ashton and Eden ended up together, it might not be a bad thing for Zolane.

Inside the spacious room, Ashton still held Eden in his arms. He could feel the softness of her body and the smoothness of her skin. The urge in him deepened, and his gaze darkened.
