Ashton’s voice was soft, but to veryone present, his words hit like a thunderclap out of nowhere.

Everyone stared at him in disbeltet. He actually wanted Xena, the ruler of Lavora’s criminal underworld, to submit to him. To them, he sounded insane.

Kieran trembled uncontrollably after hearing those words. Still kneeling on the floor, he lowered his head even further in fear. He knew her temperament all too well. Once Ashton died, he would suffer a miserable fate himself for bringing Ashton here. Just then, the man from the Heavenly Medical Pavilion seated beside Xena let out a dismissive chuckle.

“Looks like your reputation as the ruler of Lavora’s criminal underworld isn’t all that impressive after all. Want me to step in and suppress this guy for you? I can bring him back afterward and use him as a guinea pig for our drug trials.

“We’ve been desperately short on divine realm test subjects lately. A specimen like him would be incredibry valuable,” he said.

“You really are the boldest man I’ve ever met. I doubt making me submit is all you want, though. You want to sleep with me and rough me up while you’re at it, don’t you? Plenty of men think that way, but you’re the first one who’s ever dared to say it to my face.”

He looked her up and down, then shook his head.

“You’re not attractive enough for me to sleep with you. I’d be the one getting the short end of the deal.”

Everyone in the room fell silent.

Just one sentence was enough to nearly make Xena lose her composure. Her expression darkened as she said coldly, “You sure talk big. Tell me. Who the hell are you, and what do you want with me?”

“My name is Ashton Gray. I’m here to become the ruler of Lavora,” he answered calmly.

When Corwin Zeller, the man from the Heavenly Medical Pavilion, heard Ashton’s name, his eyes narrowed. He fixed Ashton with a cold, murderous stare. He hadn’t expected Ashton to actually come fo Lavora.

It seemed the intelligence their organization had received was accurate after all. Ashton really had come to crash Callum and Wanda’s wedding banquet.

“So, you’re Ashton Gray.”

A flicker of surprise crossed Xena’s face. She hadn’t expected someone feared even by the Heavenly Medical Pavilion to be this young.

More importantly, she hadn’t expected him to reveal his identity so openly. The confidence behind it left her unsettled.

“The Heavenly Medical Pavilion already warned everyone to keep an eye on your movements. They even placed an astronomical bounty on your head. I never thought you’d actually dare come to Lavora.

“Since you came here yourself, don’t even think about leaving alive. I’ll hand you over to the Heavenly Medical Pavilion for their drug trials. That’s the last bit of value you still have.”

With that, Xena slowly rose to her feet. The aura of a pinnacle of the semi-divine realm surged and swirled within her

Her hands rapidly formed hand seals as her gaze sharpened. Streams of energy gathered out of nowhere and quickly formed a sealed killing formation around the area.
