Chapter 131
“I won’t give the medication I’ve made to trash like her,” Ashton sald coolly.
“Who are you calling trash?”
Tanya’s eyes bulged in anger. But soon, the pain swallowed her words. She felt like she was being tortured.
“Ashton, are you really going to be this heartless?”
Roxy bit her lip, staring at this icy version of Ashton. She felt like she was looking at a stranger; she’d never seen him like this.
Once upon a time, he’d revolved around her. Did men really become different people after getting divorced?
“Call me heartless if you want.” Ashton couldn’t be bothered to explain, nor did he care how the Sloans saw him. He stepped forward, ready to leave.
“Freeze! You’re not getting out that door if you don’t hand over the medication!” Robert, in a burst of fury, reached out and blocked him.
Just then, Michael spoke. “Ash, our family did make a few mistakes before this, but it’s all in the past now, isn’t it? Better to mend fences than make enemies–there’s no need to make this ugly. How about I apologize to you on Tanya’s behalf? Help your former mother–in–law, okay?”
Ashton glanced at him. He was just as hypocritical as always. He made things sound pretty, but at his core, he still looked down on Ashton.
In the past, Ashton couldn’t be bothered to hold a grudge. But now, why on earth would he still let the Sloans get away with this nonsense?
His eyes glinted with mockery. “Doesn’t feel great to suffer a fate worse than death, does it, Tanya? It’s not impossible for me to give you the medication. If you kneel, admit that you were wrong, and apologize to me, maybe I’ll consider helping.”
“Dream on!” Tanya exploded.
How dare he say something like that to her? Making her bow her head to a man she despised was even harder for her to accept than her own death!
“Ashton, are you really going to push us this far?” Roxy snapped.
“Say whatever you want.” Ashton wasn’t interested in saying another word to her.
Tanya screamed, nearly fainting from the pain. Robert hurriedly held her up and leaned close to her, whispering, “Mom, swallow your pride just this once. You’ll only need to kneel before Ashton this once.
“When we get the medication and crack the formula, we won’t need him anymore. I’ll make sure he pays for this in tenfold–no, a hundredfold!”
Tanya gritted her teeth, her eyes turning bloodshot.
“Are you doing it or not? Give me an answer. I’m on a tight schedule,” Ashton said coldly.

Tanya trembled with rage. In her heart, she cursed him a thousand times over.
“Seems you’ve got quite the backbone, Mrs. Sloan. I respect that. Keep enduring the stomach pain, then I’m leaving” Ashton turned to leave.
“Stop right there, Ashton!”
Ultimately, Tanya couldn’t take the agony anymore. Her voice trembled as she forced out, “I’ll kneel and apologize to you!”
“Don’t force yourself to do something you don’t want to. I’m not into coercing people.” Ashton looked
indifferent.
Tanya endured the vicious pain and suppressed her crushing humiliation as she fell to her knees with a thud before him. She growled, “I was wrong before. Happy now?”
Saying those words nearly drained the last of her strength. She vowed to herself that she would make Ashton pay for this shame tenfold one day.
“Sorry. I didn’t catch that.”
“Don’t push your luck, Ashton!”
“I can just walk away if that’s what I want,” he said snarkily.
“Ashton, I was wrong! I apologize! Is that good enough? Now, give me the medication!”
Tanya thrust out her hand, her face twisted with hatred. Her voice was ice–cold.
