Chapter 239
Ashton ground his heel into Edmund’s cheek, pressing hard as he exuded murderous intent.
“You wouldn’t dare kill me!” Edmund’s expression changed drastically.
Ashton asked coolly, “Why wouldn’t I?”
“Ashton, calm down!” Natalie blanched when she sensed the killing intent rolling off him.
She hurried to his side and whispered, “Edmund is the Sage’s youngest and favorite son. If this is just a pissing match, the Sage is magnanimous enough to let it slide. But if Edmund dies, you’ll be driven out of Javonbury!”
Ashton didn’t even flinch. He and the Sage were destined to clash, anyway!
“Ashton, don’t be impulsive…‘

Sheila was rattled, too. If Edmund really died there, no one present would escape the fallout.
“I’m very calm,” Ashton said, chuckling.
He slipped his left arm around Natalie’s waist and pulled Sheila close with his right, now having one beauty under each arm.
Natalie flushed. She couldn’t break free, no matter how she tried. In the end, she just surrendered to it.
Ashton really was getting bolder with her by the day. If Edmund admitted he wasn’t Ashton’s equal, then by her wager with Ashton, she would have to give herself wholly to him and acknowledge him as her master.
At that point, her body would be at his mercy…
More importantly, after seeing what Ashton was capable of again and again, there was something profoundly mysterious about him that left her with complicated feelings.
At the very least, she wasn’t repulsed by him. In fact, trading flirty jabs with him like this gave her a strange, guilty pleasure.
Sheila, on the other hand, panicked like a startled rabbit. But the more she struggled, the tighter Ashton held her, until her soft, supple body pressed completely against his chest. “Let me go!”
She never imagined he would be this bold–just straight up putting his hands on her.
“Weren’t you the one who said you’d be my side piece? Perfect time to get used to it.”
Ashton had long wanted to put Sheila in her place. He hadn’t forgotten her teasing.
Sheila felt her face burn. The harder she struggled, the more intimate the contact became. She could only shoot Natalie a glare. “This is the man you picked? He’s so domineering! Anyway, I’m not his woman since Edmund hasn’t admitted defeat yet!”
“You will be sooner or later. Better practice serving the same man as me.” Natalie’s mood lifted considerably when she saw how reluctant Sheila was.
“Ashton Gray! We’re measuring power here, not personal fighting skills! I haven’t lost!”
Edmund’s eyes blazed with rage as he listened to Ashton flirt with the two women he coveted and watched him hold one in each arm.

“You want to go up against me in a measure of power? Fine, then. I’ll give you a chance so that you can lose with no excuses.” Ashton snorted and kicked Edmund away.
Edmund traced an arc through the air and crashed to the floor. A few more ribs cracked, and his face twisted further with pain.
“Whatever power you’ve got, bring it on. I’ll take it all. But remember, you only get one shot.” Ashton sat down casually in a chair and patted his thigh.
He said to Natalie, “Come on. Sit here.”
Her face burned crimson. Before she could answer, he wrapped an arm around her slender waist and settled her perky backside on his thigh, his hand gliding over her flawless skin.
For a moment, Natalie jolted like she’d been shocked. With nowhere to put her hands, she looped them around Ashton’s neck, ending up in an unmistakably intimate pose with him.
