“You should hurry up and sign the contract now, Martha!” Roxy pressed, sounding noticeably frantic.

Martha, however, slid the contract aside and set the fountain pen on top of it. She then looked over Ashton, Sylvia, and Roxy, suspicion and curiosity surging within her as her heartbeat quickened.

She was breathing quickly as she asked gently, “Did you just say Evermore Media belongs to you and Mr. Gray? What do you mean by that, Ms. Langley?”

“That’s right! Ashton is a principal shareholder of Evermore Media! You’ll eventually become part of Ashton’s family if you sign with Evermore Media, Ms. Stone!” Sylvia declared, smiling broadly.

She fully grasped Martha’s current emotional state, as it mirrored her own feelings from the past. She vividly recalled this intense excitement and joy upon learning that Ashton and Roxy were getting a divorce. She reflected that that moment was undeniably the happiest moment of her life.

“Isn’t Mr. Gray married to Roxy? How could he be affiliated with Summit Media, then? How did he end up joining your company, Ms. Langley?” Martha asked as she nervously ran her tongue over her lips, already anticipating and desperately wishing for–a particular reply.

“Haven’t you been informed, Ms. Stone? Ashton and Roxy are divorced! Ashton is officially single now!” Sylvia declared, making sure her voice was loud and clear as she delivered the last, crucial detail.

“Is that true?” Martha exclaimed involuntarily as her body trembled all over. She was so shocked by the revelation that it completely bypassed her restraint.

“What’s the matter with you, Martha?” Hester quickly noticed Martha’s abnormality.

Martha was typically aloof and rarely interested in personal affairs, yet now she was displaying such an intense emotional turmoil–all because of Ashton’s divorce. Hester thought that something was clearly amiss here.

Hester fixed a vigilant gaze on Ashton before she finally recalled how Martha often sat alone in a daze, quietly sketching–and the figure in those drawings was none other than Ashton.

She widened her eyes in horror as she was overcome by sudden, overwhelming dread. She couldn’t help but wonder if Martha, the superstar known for having zero romantic entanglements, had been secretly carrying a torch for a married man.
