Chapter 370
It was clear that Hester was waiting for Ashton.
Staring him down, Hester said without the slightest hint of courtesy, “You should be on your way, Mr. Gray. It wouldn’t be appropriate for a man and a woman to be alone at night.”
As Martha’s manager, it was only right for her to protect Martha. She couldn’t possibly let any random man get his grubby hands on her.
“Is that what Martha wants, or is that what you want?” Ashton calmly asked.
Hester raised an eyebrow. “Does it make any difference?”
Ashton smirked. “Of course. If that’s what Martha wants, I won’t disturb her. But if you’re the ono’s trying to shoo me off, then it just means you’re sticking your nose in her business, and I won’t be listening to you.
“After all, Martha and I already made plans. I promised to spend three nights with her. She’d be upset if I didn’t keep my promise.”
Infuriated by Ashton’s boldness, Hester growled, “It’s always wise to know your place, Ashton! Martha has already agreed to sign a contract with Evermore Media, so don’t push it!
“She’s young and easily manipulated, but as her manager, I have to keep her safe! If you really want what’s best for her, you shouldn’t even show up here!”
“Move aside. Martha is waiting for me,” Ashton said, unwilling to waste any more of his breath.
There was no reasoning with the stuck–up and presumptuous Hester.
“Ashton Gray! Do you really want me to spell it out for you?” Hester snarled. “You’re not good enough for Martha! Her career is on the rise right now, and she shouldn’t be dragged into any sort of scandalous rumors. Kindly avoid meeting with Martha ever again.
“If there are any official matters to discuss with her, someone else will get in touch with you!”
“There’s no world in this world that I’m not good enough for,” Ashton retorted, exuding a formidable pressure as he took a step closer to Hester. “Besides, you’re only Martha’s manager. What makes you think the lackey can decide for the master?”
“Who are you calling a lackey!” Hester shrieked in fury. “I won’t let you get your filthy hands on Martha, Ashton, not while I’m here! Now leave at once! I’ll explain things to Martha myself!”
“Unfortunately for you, you don’t have what it takes to stop me. You should stick to your and avoid crossing the line,” Ashton declared before brushing past her and entering the villa.
Hester’s eyes turned red–rimmed with anger. She didn’t think Ashton would be this hard to convince. Soon, she saw Ashton walking up to Martha. The distance between them kept getting smaller.
Alarm bells went off in her head.
This wouldn’t do. She couldn’t let Ashton get his way.
After a moment’s thought, Hester snapped a photo of Ashton with Martha and sent it to Martha’s most fervent

“You asked for it, Ashton!” Hester growled.
There was no way she would stand back and watch as the young woman she’d painstaking superstar end up getting sullied by scum like Ashton!

A few seconds later, her phone started ringing. Once the call connected, she greeted politely, “Mr. Jensen!” “What the hell is going on? Who the heck is that man? What’s he doing at my beloved Martie’s place?” Seth roared, his voice racked with anger and jealousy.
He’d been pursuing Martha for over a year now, but he’d never even set foot into her house before.
“You need to hurry on over, Mr. Jensen! If you don’t, some thug named Ashton Gray is going to trick Martha into spending her first night with him!” Hester exclaimed in exaggeration.
“How outrageous! I’m coming over there with my men right this second. Anyone who dares steal my woman from me is going to die!”
