Tybalt gripped his cane, ready to strike, but Cesar shouted, “I’ll handle this!”

He unleashed a murderous air as he walked up to Ashton.

“You can both come at me together,” Ashton said arrogantly. “Otherwise, you won’t even be able to touch me.” “Such insolence!”

Cesar slammed his foot into the ground, making it crack. His body brimmed with power as he declared, “I, Cesar Jensen, have held the top spot in martial competitions for three consecutive years, earning my position as deputy commander!

“Countless petty lowlives have died in my hands, and you’ll be the next one tonight! No one can offend the Southern Troops!”

Ashton snorted. “Well, I do hope you can at least withstand a few blows from me. If you don’t make this a satisfactory fight for me, I’ll make you pay for it!”

He didn’t want to waste any more words on Cesar. Having absorbed a great deal of spiritual energy into his system, the Drakeborne lineage in his blood had been ignited, swiftly launching him into battle mode.

In an instant, he shot forward, streaking through the air like a shadowy streak of light.

“He’s fast!”

Cesar was stunned, his eyes widening. Even though he was fully focused, he couldn’t pinpoint Ashton’s precise location.

He became even more uneasy when, in just a few moments, it felt as though Ashton around him. The wisps of murderous energy came barreling at him from all directions,

Cesar’s eyes flashed with fury. To think that a punk like Ashton was looking down on him, the deputy commander of the Southern Troops!

But what made it worse was that he couldn’t refute it at all.

Ashton’s speed and agility posed a grave threat to him. If Ashton used them to launch a preemptive strike, he would be at a severe disadvantage. There was no telling what might happen.

But with Ashton standing right in front of him, Cesar had complete confidence he could defeat Ashton.

He channeled his inner energy, which burst out in the form of a lethal strike that came charging at

Ashton simply responded with a punch of his own. The forces collided with an ear–splitting crash, and the punch instantly reduced Cesar’s attack to nothing.

“How could this be?”

Cesar’s eyes widened in shock at the fact that Ashton had easily wiped out the lethal strike he’d formed out of his inner energy.

To his even greater terror, Ashton’s strike hadn’t slowed even the slightest. Inner energy crackled around the fist–shaped ball of force as it came charging at his chest like an unstoppable boulder.

Cesar raised both his arms to block the punch, but it was no use. The moment it landed, his vision darkened. His head started spinning, and the powerful force blasted his arms aside.

The mighty punch hit him squarely in the chest, breaking several of his bones. He spat out blood as he staggered backward.

Gritting his teeth, he forced down the blood in his mouth and quickly began channeling his inner energy again. He had to launch a counterattack during this lull following Ashton’s attack.

Alas, he whipped his head up, only to find that Ashton was ahead of him. A fist came barreling down on him again.

In his rush, Cesar could only muster all his strength to form a protective barrier out of inner energy around himself.
