Flint and Ronan exchanged glances before charging toward Ashton from two sides. They couldn’t just stand back and watch while Cornelius died at his hands.

Besides, this was an excellent opportunity to kill Ashton. They had both seen clearly that although Ashton had defeated Cornelius, he had to have consumed a great deal of his inner energy. There was no way he had enough to keep fighting so intensely.

Cornelius panicked when he saw that Flint and Ronan were being held back. Fearing for his life, he begged, Ashton! Mr. Gray! As long as you spare my life, I’ll do whatever you want. His words were cut off when he let out an ear–splitting howl. Streaks of black energy fell like a lightning storm, piercing straight through his body, drawing blood all over.

But that was only the beginning. The dark energy continued to devour his body, ripping it apart. Cornelius let out another agonized scream, his eyes rolling back as blood burst out of him.

“How does it feel to suffer a pain worse than death?”

Ashton smiled as he looked toward Elise, Whitney, and the others. In a gentle voice, he asked, “Are you satisfied with this retribution he has received?

“This Jalunese bastard who created the Heart–Devouring Parasite is surely rueing the day he was born now. He probably regrets all the unforgivable things he’d done to you.”

Hearing these gentle yet domineering words, the women felt even more charmed by Ashton than ever before. All the women of Blossom Hall were utterly captivated by him. From now on, they would likely never be impressed with another man ever again, not after seeing someone as incredible as him.

Elise and Whitney were already in tears without even realizing it.

“He’s doing this on purpose, Elise. He just wants us to offer ourselves to him. Look at that smile. He doesn’t look like a good man at all!” Whitney muttered with a pout, though her heart was pounding.

Elise chuckled. “That’s right. He wants us to be moved by him and offer ourselves up to him. He’s a sly fox, but… we like it, don’t we?”

She’d lived through what seemed like the most hopeless of times.

He stomped down hard, cracking Cornelius‘ skull wide open.
