Chapter 601
Countless lethal blades roared forward in unison, filling the air with suffocating despair.
Everyone gasped in shock.
The very moment Clay made his move, they could all sense his formidable strength. It was a force almost unrivaled in the transcendent realm.
“Ashton might not even be able to fend off a single attack!”
“Clay has definitely gone through a transformation. He’s gotten so much stronger now! I can’t imagine Ashton winning this fight. He’s too heavily injured.”
“The outcome has long been set in stone!”
The sound of weapons colliding in succession rang through the room.
In a flash, a jet–black, holographic shield materialized around Ashton, deflecting the incoming blades one after another.
A cacophony of explosions erupted continuously.
Hit by such an overwhelming force, Ashton staggered several steps back. He began shaking violently, causing his wounds to tear open even more. Crimson blood oozed out once more, and he appeared downright battered.
Not only that, but after steadying himself, he immediately spat out a mouthful of blood. His complexion turned as pale as a sheet of paper.
Ashton clenched his fists, his expression full of rage and indignation. But deep down, he was wondering if his performance was convincing enough, or if anyone might see through him.
He was so close to reaping the rewards of his plan.
He wondered if those who hadn’t yet placed their bets would still hesitate after seeing him in such a state. This was a rare chance to earn a fortune–he had to make the most out of it!
Should his plan succeed, the Legion’s financial burden could be further alleviated, enabling them to strengthen the Northern Troops and further cultivate the legionnaires.
Money was the most basic requirement for any powerful organization.
“Hahaha!”
A hint of satisfaction appeared on Clay’s face when he saw how wretched Ashton was. His last trace of worry, too, had vanished.
“Ashton, you’ve truly disappointed me. Do you think I’m still the same man as I was back then? The gap between us is no longer comparable! Today, I’ll grant you a slow and agonizing death!”
The moment he finished speaking, Clay lunged forward without allowing Ashton even a moment to catch his breath. His eyes blazed with deadly intent as he unleashed a relentless barrage of strikes and punches at Ashton.
Ashton continued to opt for defense, looking utterly outmatched, as though his defeat was only a matter of time.
In the combat arena, the battle had become almost one–sided. Clay fought with increasing ferocity, his bloodlust growing more intense with every passing moment. His strikes became faster and his strength greater, eventually cornering Ashton with no
way out.
Ashton’s wounds were visibly worsening to the point where he was beginning to shake. Clearly, he could no longer withstand Clay’s shower of attacks. Even his defense was starting to crumble.
It was obvious to all that it was only a matter of time before Ashton fell.

“See! I told you from the start that Ashton didn’t have the slightest chance of winning this fight. I can’t understand how stupid those people were to bet so heavily on his victory! If only I had more money, I would have bet ten times as much this round and achieve financial freedom from a single bet.”
“Clay has definitely grown stronger. But Ashton isn’t doing badly either. It’s a pity he suffered serious injuries and seems to be at his wits‘ end.”
“Lend me some money! I want to increase my bet! The betting pool hasn’t closed completely yet. This is my last chance!”
“I’ve staked even my last penny. Come on then! Let the battle rage on!”
The bettors‘ eyes were all filled with madness.
